    Really?

Yes I read tweets from the folks I follow daily but rarely send anything out. I have one moron who follows me hoping to sell me real estate or something. I don't follow the Kardashians if that's what you're wondering.

    Really?

Actually I was 51 most of 2002 and turned 65 last November. I have a Twitter account that I usually check every day ( @LiamGerard ) but I don't tweet out very often. You still riding that Harley? Its a chick magnet right?

    Really?

Greetings SD - I do wake up pretty thirsty the morning after. Maybe not mixing enough water is what I've been doing wrong. Of course what goes in one end must come out the other and that can be a problem too as one reaches an advanced age. You youngsters have a lot to look forward to.

    Really?

Greetings Coug - You mean 90's don't you? Its true one grows less particular about a lot of things as time passes. Take women for example.... I threw the proverbial 10 foot pole out when I hit 80. Fat and ugly is just fine these days. Drunken Bastard is starting to look pretty good to me too.

Sump pumps which don't need water cooling

How about just extending the window well side walls above ground level six inches or so to limit how much run off can flow into them?

It has been my experience that the older one gets the less tolerant one becomes of hangovers. Sadly this has greatly diminished my capacity to party.

Check out this article - Lab Claims Faster-Than-Light Particle http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2011/09/22/world/europe/AP-EU-Breaking-Light-Speed.html?_r=3&pagewanted=1 If time slows down as you approach the speed of light, does it stop when you match or surpass it? If so how did they time the...

    Best movie you've seen

I agree with you. It was better suited as a straight to DVD film then a theatrical release. As far as I'm concerned the very first Planet of the Apes was the only one worth watching. I saw it when it first came out (Yes I'm that old!) and to this day I have a crush on Linda Harrison who played...

    Nice place to visit but....

The variety of what you have down in Oz is overwhelming. We don't get a balanced picture here because all the nasties are sensationalized to get folks to watch TV shows about them. Based on those shows you'd think it a miracle anyone is left alive down there! Fire ants are a real problem here...

    Nice place to visit but....

First of all my post was not intended to be taken seriously. I'm not sure if you took it as criticism or not at any rate I certainly did not intend it as such. As for the US I don't think you really need to be worried about being shot unless you visit or live in the inner city. It is tragic what...

    Nice place to visit but....

... not sure I'd want to live there. Australia that is. No question, its beautiful and the people seem great. But the killer wildlife is just too much for me. Watching cable TV for years now I have learned the following... They have killer snakes (10 deadly kinds I think), killer crocs (both...

    Best movie you've seen

I went to see Cowboys and Aliens last night. Pretty dumb movie complete with Cowboys getting abducted by Aliens & getting probed etc. Of course the guys in the white hats win in the end. Nothing really original in this film. Olivia Wilde is very nice to look at though. :-)

    America is ungovernable

America is doing just fine. We've been in much worse spots before and made it through. This crisis will pass too. All this negativity and hate from those abroad is the price we pay for being the last remaining super power. And despite how this curret situation turns out, 11 Nuclear Carrier...

    America is ungovernable

There is a decided lack of leadership with this adminstration. Clinton and Bush were both able to muster the political troops to carry the day when needed. Leadership is sorely lacking at the moment.

    Clean power

When a 200 MW plant requires a 7 kilometer diameter collector size is a very big concern imo. At that rate I doubt there's enough open space in America to meet the countries current power demands! Not only that but the windmills here in the States are eye sore enough when they cover a hill top...

    Clean power

27 MW? And I thought 200 MW was more or less a waste of time (no pun intended) especially considering the size of the thing.

She's 29 but still looks like a little girl. She was good in The Professional and Beautiful girls when she actually was a girl. But she has trouble playing grown-ups now that she's an adult. She was good in Black Swan but then again she was playing a young woman in that role who still lives with...

Tip of the hat to Aussie vetrans on the occasion. Are there any Gallipoli vetrans still alive? They'd have to be well over 100 by now.

I can imagine life without oil. But I cannot imagine life without electricity. Nuclear may be the only option some day. Could it be that finding a safe way to generate nuclear power will be lees of a challenge than finding a viable alternative energy source?

    Canada

Huh? I don't dislike Canadians (or anyone else for that matter) I was simply poking fun at the stereotypical Canadian. In no way is it deserved, but Canada and Canadians are perceived as being boring here in the states.

Don't take this mean I am taking sides in this disagreement but just as a point of interest 10,000 former coal miners died of black lung disease in the past decade alone. Granted there are many more megawats of electricity generated from coal than there are by nuclear means. Speaking of which...

    Wikileaks

It stirikes me that you're an honorable man. There is no honor however in stealing another's private correspondance and publishing it for the world to see. But then to those who detest American policy it seems the end always justifies the means. No tactic is too low for these characters. If...
