I was only able to get off a few frames on the S90 before the battery died :( , but it seems to be functional. The battery charger is the size of the camera. I wish it charged via USB.
I am having a terrible time fumbling with the camera. What do you think of this grip?
That is not exactly what I was thinking. Does it help OS and apps that much to be on boot RAID? I'm not noticing any difference between the X25-E and X25-M for that. The page file and temp files are the ones that obviously benefit from the higher write speeds. Now the page file is on the...
There are numerous books out there. Look up Bryan Peterson. The ones on seeing creatively and understanding exposure are a good start. There are plenty of basic hardware guides on the web, but that is not where the younger generation suffer.
Only because Canon is lazy/cheap. I never noticed this before because the 1D/s series has 3 1/2 digits and I only use RAW. The high count could easily be exceeded by jpg users though. :cat:
I'm not sure which drives are best to use on it or if that would really be worthwhile. The SandStorm 50GB drives are the cheapest with decent performance now, but if two are no better than one X25-E it is a big waste.
The case is rather large and not a very efficient use of space. It's almost the size of some ATX cases. The hard drive mounting is odd to say the least. ;)
High value items are often shipped from vendors with direct signature required that overides a signature release or leaving package with a neighbor, etc.
It is normal as far as I can determine. Some of the drives test less than the typical 265 MB/sec. bursts, but the SSDs are at those limits. I don't have anything fast to put in a RAID 0. :alb:
The SIL3132 is the most popular of the line. There are dozens of brands of inexpensive little 2-port SATA 3Gbps PCIe cards based on that chip. For some reason they never made a native 4-port version. There are some 4-port PCI SATA cards today that are still based on the 3114. I use an old...
I finally opened up the second one. Preliminary indications are better, but I have yet to test it with a long tele. The display reads a bogus value of 999 frames remaining with the new 32GB card installed. Dimwit Canon engineers must be mathematically challenged.
I don't have packages delivered at work. Not only is it illegal, but there is no recourse if one is damaged or mislaid. Mailroom is not staffed with women. I mainly see a couple of strong young guys that haul the packages around and deliver them to our offices.
My NSK2480 from November had an 80+ PS, but I don't remember any medal schemes. I founds the fans to be rather quiet at low speed. You'd never hear them in most working environments.
It turns out that I did not get the S90 today, but the second copy of the 7D. I
I was too preoccupied to count three vs. four packages when UPS dude arrived.
The fourth was still on the truck. :(
