When I posted there was an odd error message and then reposting gave the flood control reply. When I cleared out and logged in again the the Computer page showed only the number and timestamp of the first reply (MaxBun). I tried that a few times. Weird.

Canon bodies do not currently output uncompressed RAW files. The older Canon bodies produced RAW files that are about 1-1.2 MB/MP. The RAW files produced by newer cameras contain full-sized embedded jpegs and are about 1.5 MB/MP. The 120MP sensor may be on the noisy side, so the factor may be...

SSDs - State of the Product?

I've used an X25-E for over 623 days, even before David had any. :p There are no problems so far. :) Up until two weeks ago it held everything needing performance: OS/page/scratch/temp. Two weeks I pointed the temp and scratch locations to the twin RAID 0 Corsair Stormforce drives.

SSDs - State of the Product?

That is good news. I wonder if you were just lucky not to have received a refurbished one. I have only one OCZ drive. It's 30GB and will be destroyed if a defect is observed. 240VAC should do it.

    Dust is a killer

I don't know exactly how much it weighs. Nine HDs (mostly 2TB), optical drive, and four SSDs make it heavy enough. The bulk, shape and painted surface make it difficult to grip. I could handle the weight well enough if the tower were shorter and squarer. Taking it down is easier, but going...
