I have a couple of copies of TI 2010, but it still has some bugs and was hoping they were fixed. However, one of the annoyaces of TI is that the format of the tib files is not backwards compatible with older versions. :porc:

    LED flashlights

Perhaps the 2xAA type is becoming more popular. The new Fenix E21 is rated at 150 lumens and not bad at $35. It is certainly less bulky. I may buy some as Christmas gifts. :santa:

I've not seen those for sale, but at the price they would be good to leave in vehicles or have as backups.

2010 was one of the weakest Photokinas in years. There was hardly anything to speak of in 35mm DSLRs and most of the new lenses were simply updates. Where is the 1Ds MK IV or D800? :silent:

That would be me. But I would use the secure erase utility to wipe the drive rather than the damaging defrag.

Why is the site always slow?

The site is slow and stalled when I tried to post a reply. Then the post appeared in triplicate. Something is amiss. :(

I assume the crashing is due to memory limitations, at least that is the usual error. There is no excuse for it in any case.

I'm assuming you mean the best ~normal lenses. You must have used some fine macro lenses somewhere along the way.

    100% broadband coverage

Everyone doesn't want the social interaction of the cities. It's awful most of the time. If I had substantial wealth, I'd buy a place in the desert about 120-180 miles from a mid-sized city and only go to town a couple times per month. I'd be fine with 1 Mbps or thereabouts.

    LED flashlights

I have a multitude of LED flashlights, but the TK11 is still my favorite. Mine have held up well to rain and numerous drops and scrapes. I think the lights were a little over $100 each with two batteries and a charger.

4K sector drives and RAID cards

I wish the 2TB 7200 RPM drives were cheaper. (I'm not counting the slow Hitachi oldie.) My 2TB WD2001FASS is almost twice as much, but worth it. I wonder when we will have 3x667GB 7200 ROM drives, or will there be 4x750GB 3TB drives first?

I have little use for such fiber speeds. I don't play video games online or download illegal movies. Will SF load any faster?

OMG, there must be a better way. It took several days to convert 26K files to 1536x1024 jpegs. I selected all the files in a folder of ~2500 and started conversions, then did the same with two other folders. Processing more than three folders simultaneously thrashed the drive excessively...

Intel's new business model - Chip upgrading?

I'm OK with that method if the upgraded functionality is permanently set in the CPU itself. A concern would be if the CPU reverts to a more basic mode in another system.

Where is it mentioned that color is 10 bits per channel? I thought Displayport was needed for that.

This year I think. Perhaps they make the monitors cheap and junky with terrible warranties to lower the overall price.

Weather was difficult and there was never enough light to shoot properly. Too often it was either the 7D or a 1Ds III with a 1.4x. In good light the latter is the usual choice, but not at the low light limits for the subjects.
