    Photography Advice

I've noticed that turning IS off when shooting from a tripod helps a lot; it seems the lens is looking for movement that isn't there otherwise and actually blurs the shot by attempting to adjust. I'm sure those that have it know, but I didn't read it on the page just linked.

    Married Student Housing wireless network

Wow, that place is huge. It appears that the buildings are paired. One AP might make it to each pair, but I'll second blake about wanting a cable to each AP. Trying a directional to each broadcasting AP is possible, but the air around your buildings will be saturated enough without having to...

    Married Student Housing wireless network

It's important to know a few things: 1. What is the connection between you and the campus? T-1 would be nice, but a fractional T-1 is likely and an ISDN is possible. The quality of the connection makes the other costs more justifiable. 2. How many buildings and how far apart? Depending on the...

    Finally….someone who broke ‘the code‘

I agree that it's a problem, and it's a problem that Cosby and the group he was with need to address, but to me it's just another problem. The junior high I went to had a 20% drop-out rate, the high school was closer to 50%. 30% of graduates went to college and 50% of those got a degree. There...

    WiFi astonishment

In case anyone was keeping up, OnTrack's latest pricing is $100 for inspection and $700-$2300 for repair. The partition delete wan't such a big deal, and the bad sectors was making life difficult, but now it's making odd noises and unmounting itself....time to send it off to the pros.
