I've noticed that turning IS off when shooting from a tripod helps a lot; it seems the lens is looking for movement that isn't there otherwise and actually blurs the shot by attempting to adjust. I'm sure those that have it know, but I didn't read it on the page just linked.

I'll second that..

I know a few people at the other place are actually cable techs...don't remember who and don't remember if they come here. Cable is still theorectially faster in my neighborhood (low saturation), but I won't touch such a clearly inferior technology. DSL/Frac. T-1/ISDN for me in that order.

Agreed, shutting down hub or ring based networks used to be a cinch. It wasn't until switching tech got good that networks became even remotely reliable.

Technically, I'm not supposed to be open past 10PM. I normally just have a few regulars hand around until midnight or so. I continue to work until 3 or 4AM, just getting things dialed-in. If I were to server alcohol, I would lose my primary clientele (under 21).

Unfortuatly, my system image has been delayed due to the destruction of my activation-free copy of XP Pro....once I get another I'll be able to deply this beast. In the meantime I'm still running one machine 24/7...

Unfortunatly, county regs prevent bars from being open past 2AM.

Had 10 people in for 8 hours tonight, all playing a massive game of COD. Then we went online and spanked a server full of americans playing BF: V My Saitek X45 and a stolen Huey Gunship are unstoppable. Esp. with my wingman (sitting 32" to my left) covering me for the theft and doing bad things...
