I'm at work. Though we've posted standard hours, I plan on bailing and going to a friend's party as soon as it gets quiet. If everyone left right now I wouldn't mind.

I'm seriously interested in putting 3 of these on some workstations I'm building. Does anyone have information on getting it to run on PCs? If they just use the dual-link DVI, than the Matrox cards should work...no?

The P5A is the reason I still love Asus. Though they haven't done much for me lately, that was an absolute dream.

That is absolutely incredible. Even if you don't have the time for all 10:22 of it, you must listen to the last minute or so...that is completely amazing.

Grr. I moved it, really I did. But then Smiley came back and messed it up again. I have mounting brackets for the cams, and just haven't had the time to bolt them in place.

After doing some more research, that Hayabusa Turbo is good for 420hp! :o Weighing in at only 480lbs...boggles the mind....

I'm a gaming nut. If this system can't play DX9 games @ 2048x1536 it won't fly. Triple head is also a requirement. This is my primary rig, I just want to put the harddrives 20+ feet away. One of the clients that I would consider this to be a test for use AutoCAD2004 on dual-head workstations...

My quiet computing has really become a sick obsession. My system has 2 120mm fans, one built into the PS (that I've replaced with a 5v Panaflo) is actually ducted to draw from my Zalman 7000A with fan removed. the other draws air across the hard drives and blows across my passively cooled 9800XT...

Soundstorm is the only onboard audio solution that I know of that doesn't suck. It was on my ASUS A7N8X Dlx boards, and it was a good thing.

I'm still really interested in iSCSI and somewhat interested in Fibre-channel. Mainly as these work better with high-capacity SATA drives, and (with iSCSI) the cabling can be longer and is cheaper.

FYI: LVD SCSI has a 12m max length, but using one of these ($60) will double that, 70+ feet would work for most installations. I'm having a hard time finding 12m cables, though. I'm just curious on pricing.

Even though this implementation may only be 1 or 2 machines (totally do-able with SCSI), I like to use my home as a lab for testing technology before I stick it in the field. From what I've read, iSCSI has the ability to mount bootable volumes via a switched ethernet network? Is this correct?

They do. but you need to have the ISO created for it to work. I ended up making this massive series of scripts that: 1. Copied the data to a single (local) folder 2. Compressed the data into a RAR file 3. Verified the RAR against the folder 4. Deleted the local folder (optional - saves space)...

Yup. I like wildlife as well. I occasionally have deer run past the store, heading between the Defense Langage Institute (DLI) and the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS). Both have large forrested areas, and my store is in between.

Why so worried? It's fairly clear that the issue is due to the drive not operating in DMA mode. That drive should be capable of "Ultra DMA Mode 5" or similar. The first thing I would suspect is a cable issue, then a BIOS issue, than an OS issue. I really doubt the drive is at fault.
