    Weird slowdown

A dedicated server can be done for less than $100 a month, which is a lot more reasonable than $1000/month. Doug if you get more clients you could probably swing a dedicated server quite easily. Just advertise your reselling more...

    What about Howard Dean?

Let's take a quick look at Kerry. He voted FOR the war in Iraq and he voted FOR the USA Patriot Act. He has sponsored 371 laws, nine of which became law, and six of those were of "a ceremonial nature," meaning renaming a federal building or designating a national POW/MIA day. Wow what a lot...

Could be a problem with the pagefile getting misplaced, corrupted, etc. Windows does not handle this very well, I've seen countless 2K installations blitzed because Windows couldn't find the pagefile.

    Strange 160GB data corruption issue

I sure wish I would have read this thread when it came up the first time. I just lost 60GB of data last weekend because of this stupid bug. Why doesn't SP4 or SP3 for that matter just fix this problem? I ended up putting my drive on the onboard Promise controller. I have an extra Promise...

Looking for 200GB or larger hard drives

I'm looking for deals on hard drives that are at least 200GB. Fluid bearings are preferable. No Western Digital drives though. I've been checking Bensbargains and Deal Catcher, but I don't check every day and there might be some deals that I miss. So if you know of a deal post it here.

    Ever deepening hatred for WD

I buy other drives because of amazing rebate offers I can get. I got the 200GB Seagate for $100 after rebate. I would probably buy Samsung too if I could get a drive for that price. Also I keep running out of room, so the bigger the drive the better.

    Ever deepening hatred for WD

I just sold a 1000bb because it had gotten so loud over the last 18 months that it was just about deafening. Replaced it with a Seagate 200GB 7200.7, which is a vast improvement. No more WD for me.

Trying to download it now. Not that I will be able to do anything with it, but I still want to see what it looks like. See how good their form is, what kinds of comments are in the code. The next couple weeks/months should be interesting, maybe MS will be the next OSS company...bawahahaha

    Vday

Not that I enjoy the commercial aspects of Valentines day at all. I hate wasting money on stupid gifts, and I hate it even more when someone wastes money on gifts for me. I do enjoy time spent together, which is far more important than a dozen roses ever will be.

    Best movie you've seen

Watched American Splendor tonight, it was interesting to say the least. Not a typical movie at all. Definitely worth seeing...shows how complicated life is and how Harvey Pekar gets through it even though he loathes each day of his life.

Most ignorant thing I've ever heard in my life

I only have one piece of instant messaging software loaded on my computer and that is AIM. I know people that use ICQ, MSNMISM (or whatever it is), and Yahoo, but 99% of the people that I talk to on IM all use AIM, which makes it a pretty useful tool. Especially when I don't want to call...

Most ignorant thing I've ever heard in my life

IM is perfect for short conversations as Pradeep said, also if the person is there you get an answer immediately. Much easier than calling that person up. I just use an away message if I don't want to talk to people.

I'm pretty sure that you need to confirm the bank account before you can send money directly from your bank. It shouldn't take that long to confirm if paypal has already sent the two small sums of money. Otherwise 2 days really isn't that long and most sellers won't give negative feedback...
