    Cable modem woes

A couple years ago i was having major connectivity issues with a cable modem on a splitter. The cable company kept insisting that it was because of a poor quality splitter. But, then they came out and put different combinations of filters on the line and it started working again. However, I...

A critical look at the future (oil)

Strip mining coal has a pretty devastating effect on the envirornment. Gas Hydrates is where the most energy is stored. We should learn to extract this energy cost effectively.

    LSI Megaraid i4

Only 12MB/s? I thought you would get higher read scores than that with so many drives? I can understand low writes with an old controller, but maybe something is configured wrong.

Who cares if they put ads up based on what is in the e-mail address. They already do the same thing when you search for something. It's really no big deal. I will definately be signing up for an account when it goes public. Adcadet, how did you get to sign up for an account?

Best speaker set for PC with coax for ~200U$

Coax passes a digital signal. I don't know if AC97 mangles that before it sends it out, but any good piece of audio equipment won't touch the digital signal. Get a good Onkyo receiver to decipher the digital sound. I currently have a crappy Sony Receiver, it's about 5 or 6 years old now. It...

Looking for 200GB or larger hard drives

I just sold an 80GB baracuda iv for $65 + $8 shipping that was replaced by the 200GB from CompUSA. I can't believe anyone would buy a two year old 80GB drive for $73, when you can get a new drive twice the size for a few dollars more. Or a new drive of the same size for less.

You just need a converter. Some say that they are not very reliable, but I used one in my computer for over 2 years and never had a problem. This is the one that I used and it worked great. You could probably find one for less money elsewhere, this is just an example.

Looking for 200GB or larger hard drives

I think Outpost needs to work on their math skills. The regular price of the drive is $219.99, the rebate is for $90. If you do the math, which I admit is extremely difficult you get a total of $129.99. I think I will e-mail or call them and ask how they get a total of $109.
