A lot of pretty tech speak and a flashy website...and not a single product.....bullshit...er, excuse me...whay I meant to say was, perhaps we should have another look at them in 6 months, and see if they have something concrete.

    Buying some iPod shuffles...

The shuffle has no display, and only about 6 buttons. Sweet, really. But I'm really liking the mini as well. I was able to get it up and running without using any of their software, which makes me happy.

Yes, it was University of Chicago. During one of her tours they said "See that? That's 48th street. Don't cross it." Yeah, no thanks. Besides, in order to make me tolerate such ridiculous cold a place had better be darn awesome. Big beautiful town with culture and art? I got SF, thanks.

If I can plug one of these into the native SATA plug on a nForce3 mobo and install XP Pro to a SATA hard drive on the other channel without drivers, SATA will finally have arrived.

Thanks for the link, Buck...very helpful. After reading the reviews on that site, it looks like the PlaneQuiet 6 is the better choice at one-sixth the cost of the Bose. But the smaller Sonys are still soo temting...

Ugh...sorry about that  Any out there own a pair? I've been looking at the Bose model for some time, but the $300 price tag and being dissapointed with Bose products in the past has delayed the decision. In the meantime, some other products have shown up. Sony's Ear-bud type are really...

    SATA Hot-Plug Hard Drive Bays

I've used the SuperMicro 5-drive enclosures in many servers with great success. The P-ATA version of the Vantec worked well, the (40mm non-replaceable) fan didn't fail for 3 years. Not bad, really.

    Buying some iPod shuffles...

I tried reading a book while jogging once, the broken nose healed well and the tree has forgiven me. Seriously, with the amount of time I'm spending on planes these days, a basic audio source and some noise-cancelling headphones seem the best way to tune out the surroundings and get the old...

Does anyone else enjoy palying simulation games? In the past, I've really enjoyed flight sims and driving sims. More recently, I've become a big fan of driving/racing sims. I really enjoyed the NFS series from #s 1-6, but "underground" doesn't do it for me. Right now I'm playing the demo of...

    My new system...

Yeah, I suppose I should put that into my requirements. I only want one drive, and it needs to be able to burn dual-layer DVDs, and I want the fastest one of those I can find. Noise for the optical isn't an issue, I find 10 minutes of noise a worthwhile cost of having a movie online.

Linksys NAS Device is really slow...
