I was looking for someone who would print and mount canvas panoramas and I found these guys. They seem very competitively priced, and their website is easy enough. Anyone here have any experience with them?

    Travelstar 7k320 ships(soon)$220?

After working with SSDs, I have no doubt that the primary hard drive of my next laptop will be one. So unless the laptop supports 2 internal drives, there will be an external along for the ride on photo trips (and which trips aren't photo trips ;)).

If I were in need of massive, fast, portable storage; I would be taking a close look at this. A Pair of 500GB 2.5" drives in RAID-0 connected by USB 2.0. Very sexy indeed.

Just send me out with 2 36MB SD cards ;) I would have for a couple hours, revisit several spots, and spend an hour setting up the shot. I'm already considering bringing a stool so I can park behind the tripod and contemplate the framing, lighting, etc. IMHO, taking a million pictures only...

WINE does very nicely with Photoshop. I can't get it to run in Server 2003 (because I can't get SP2 installed), but in WINE 1.0 in Ubuntu 8.04 it does very nicely.

I shot the same flower at 16mm and 140mm. I thought that...how do I phrase this...that if the depth of the flower from front to back was a larger percentage of the distance from the sensor to the flower that it would seem more 3-dimensional. It doesn't seem to be the case. Does anyone know what...

EBay. Don't sell it to a customer, because then you would have to support it. Just unload it to someone you won't have to deal with.

Quite so. We just watched the original recording of "7 things you can't say on television" and Dogma to remember him. Lewis Black commented on NPR that a million heads just turned to John Stewart as the next best thing. :pale: Far from it in my opinion, but good nonetheless.

    Feeding your DSLR (flash memory)

The primary reason for my trigger-happiness was a single bird and high wind. In order to get the shutter speed high enough I was shooting ISO400 and f5.6. Because of that the DOF sucked, and because of the wind the bird was all over the place. On top of that, I wasn't keeping it stable enough...

I understand the need for long, fast glass to be heavy. It has a job to do. But the D300 with a basic lens on it was double the 450D. The quick spec list: 14bit RAW 12MP 3" LCD LiveView Dust Reduction Of course, the longer spec list (and the price) show the D300 to be a much higher end...

My RAW files are averaging 16.4MB a piece. That means about 220 shots on a 4GB card. That is an afternoon for me, which would do fine, but I really don't like changing cards. Using 8GB cards means I don't need to carry spares for a day. I know Lunar likes to keep the number of shots per card...

From what I've read, they never changed the terminology for focal lengths, so since those are both 1.5x crop sensors, it would show an equivalent to 75mm @ full-frame. A 28mm would be 42mm, and 42mm @ f2.8 with ISO800 could do quite a bit in lower light levels, but it depends upon your...
