I haven't used the 1394 version of this board, just the RZ version. However, this problem hasn't happened to me before, and I just use Kingston value memory, which is set at CL3.

Sorry, the only 1MB L2 cache 2.0GHz AMD chip my disti has right now is the Opteron 246. Other than that, it is the Athlon 64 3000+ or the Sempron 2800+. Oh, and the pre-castrated Sempron XP2800+ Barton is still available too.

    Sarbanes-Oxley

If a company is ISO 9000 certified, then a lot of this is already in place, right? Either way, it does sound like a lot of extra work. I can certainly see the need for storage space and hopefully hard drive sales will increase. : )

Intel boards are interesting when it comes to the CMOS jumper, they have three positions, and when the shunt is in the wrong position, the board does exactly what Clocker is describing.

Fushi, I'm not really familiar with this new SOX initiative, isn't it just legislation that outlines what type of documents need to be archived and for how long? I think they stipulate 5 years. Anyway, if you could explain a little bit about it and what is involved on your end as an IT guy, it...

Are all other unecessary cables disconnected from the motherboard (eg ATA/ATAPI/Floppy/USB)? Is there a jumper on the motherboard for the FSB? Also this is a nForce2 board that uses dual channel memory. Are their any requirements for populating the slots? PS: Yes it is possible that you...

    Redhill is looking good

Handy, yes their code can be changed with a php routine of some sort, however, I'm not worried about it. The basic process is that I create an "Add to Cart" button through PayPal, and the code they generate has some minor flaws. This isn't a major error that will prevent the code from...

More Hard Drive Vendor Consilidation On Horizon ?

Yes, both Seagate and Maxtor are hurting. They've essentially scared off some investors from the hard drive segment. Thus, regardless if your hard drive company is doing well right now, the stock prices will be low (this probably applies most to WD since they don't have the investment of other...

Annoyingly, PayPal generates some of my code and it fails horribly with W3C validation. I really don't feel like changing their code everytime I drop in a new item. At least the code renders well across different platforms. On the up side of things, both of my CSS files pass W3C validation. :)

Woohoo, I found Opera's code of contention: position: relative; float: left; By removing the code the line of text still justifies left, but Opera no long justifies every single word left.

More Hard Drive Vendor Consilidation On Horizon ?

I don't foresee any mergers. Plus, the major players like WD, Seagate and Maxtor are just becoming more competitive with each other.

WOW, Seagate ups warranty to 5 years.

Interestingly, the PDF file I linked to, and quoted from, no longer mentions anything about credit. Where ever I looked on Seagate's website, the return/exchange process is eligible for the full five years -- no credit plans. Let's see if WD and Maxtor change with the tide.
