    Conversion Tool

Thanks for all of the great help. Those are all good utilities. However, I found out that I can simply CTRL+C the cells in Excel, create a new file in Photoshop (which will be the exact same size as the last item copied to the clip board) and CTRL+V -- very simple. Thanks again.

Using wireless in brick & cement structures

That's a good question Bozo. I have experienced that the connectivity within the horizontal 'plate' zone is best. Connectivity above the antenna (e.g. second floor) is good, but not quite as good as the same floor. Whereas signal integrity below the antenna is the worst (e.g. Access Point...

Trouble installing XP-Pro with new PC Build

How was the Western Digital drive originally jumpered? If it is the only device on the cable, it should be jumpered as Single (pins 4-6 or no jumper shunt present), if there is a Slave present on the same ATA cable, then it should be jumpered as a Master (pins 5-6).

Yes, I really like the one called: "HTML Utopia: Designing Without Tables, Using CSS." I'm not much of a book learner, but this one made it really easy. I have plenty of other web development books that I wish were this good. I also bought "The PHP Anthology" series, but I think I should've...

Recommendations for an external SATA enclosure?

I just talked with a customer rep at Granite Digital, and the drive plugs directly into a bridge, so there is no internal cable. The cable that comes with the enclosure kit is for externally plugging the drive into the host. He said that it is a regular SATA cable.

Improper placement of drives on the ATA cable. For example, using a single hard drive for your system and placing it as Master to your CD-RW, and then wondering why burning CDs takes longer then expected. Improper use of a hard drive. Such as using a desktop ATA drive for a high I/O...

Why does this thing seem so fast?

Yup, they do seem quick. I still have one (SE440BX/PII400) in service, and the only things that have held down the speed are the hard drive, RAM quantity, and video card. Once I upgraded those items, it works just as fast as my PIII 1.2GHz Tualatin.

    Faster Merdia - When, Where?

In my opinion it was probably a conspiracy. With low advertised media prices, people pushed for the drives to come out. Why wouldn't they want to use the new widget since the media is reasonably priced? The drives come out, and now people need the media, so manufacturers know they can raise...

    Athlon 64 3200+ 939?

Yes mangy one, the 940 CPUs support Registered memory. However, the new FX chips, such as the FX-53, come in the 939-pin variety. Thus, they still support dual channel memory, but without the overhead of buffered RAM. So, here is my confusing take on the situation. You can either find the...

It is possible that this is just a temporary overlap. AMD will soon release the FX-55 (2.6GHz) and then the FX-53 will be quickly discontinued. Is the Hypertransport the same for both chips (800MHz or 1000MHz)?
