Are there any drive diagnostic tools that run in Windows? I need to fully check some USB 2.0 drives. It appears that the Seagate tools wants to create a bootable disk or CD that only runs from some kind of DOS.
Thanks
Greg, it is not just the small drives such as 7200 RPM. All notebook drives have been dropping in price. For example the 160GB Seagate was $355 a few months ago and is now only $215. Of course price decline is a routine trend in storage history, but may be steeper in 2006 than in 2005 as...
Those Zeons are good for everything, eh? ;)
Of course if you are dying in the summer heat (108-110 °F) and electricity rates have gone through the roof, it does not seem like a good idea. :(
Yikes, this new version creates a lot of difficulties! There is so much wasted space, huge line amd columns spacing, so much scrolling, etc. I hope the normal people like it and it works out for you though.
Have you tried golf? I think one can learn more about a person by playing 18 holes than when climbing rocks (not mountains), but maybe that is just me. Many people are struck by lightning on the courses each year. Also, there is plenty of physics involved and the wind is certainly an element.
You misinterpret my emoticons. I am simply a bit shocked by all the details. Must be my age, but women did not all talk about that sort of thing. I suppose toys have been around for years. I certainly never saw any in the dishwasher; that's for sure!

Wow that is a horribly slow drive! A CF card can read at >20 MB/sec. reads and write almost as fast. Maybe the flash drives are useful for industrial/scientific purposes, but I doubt many consumers are standing in line to buy one. I wonder how fast Windows XP boots on flash compared...
The problem is crappy customer relations, not Acrobat. Unfortunately it is more and more the norm. At least the Canon manuals are still downloadable, but they are watermarked with "COPY" so printed versions are difficult to read. Do they think people would be printing the manuals and selling...
Apparently Hitachi has 500GB in a 3-platter design now. One hopes the T7K500 is cooler and quieter than the current 500GB drive. I'd rather have 4x150GB if some manufacturer could manage that.
