    Samsung SpitPoint 500GB

Samsung HD501LJ 500GB SATA drives are inexpensive and I could use another 2TB of drives for storage only. Are these drives any good or is there some reason not to get them, such as poor reliability, high heat, or high noise? I want to order some drives ASAP. Thanks.

    Seagate: Helping people watch porn

The two 750GB ATA drives I have are relatively cool and quiet, whereas the SATA one was hot and noisy. It's like they are different drives. Unfortunately ATA ports are disappearing so I'm reluctant to buy any more than the 7TB+ of ATA drives.

In hope the Segate 1TB drives available next year are better than the horrific 750GB SATA ones. I still don't understand why are so different from the similar PATA drives.

    Automatic Parking Toyota / Lexus

Perhaps anyone who can't parallel park should not be parallel parking, rather than not driving. I have not had occasion to parallel park in more than 10 years. I suppose such parking is necessary in the crowded cities. In many areas around here street parking is not allowed and there are...

D'OH! It is funny, but I really was not thinking about the implants. Or rather I was thinking that is was odd to wip out the implants in the middle of a restaurant.

    Automatic Parking Toyota / Lexus

It depends on the state. I do not recall a driving test requirement for parallel parking, but it was soooo long ago. Yeah, Kevin is a nice guy. Sorry for the overreaction, but always seems to be so pro-GM and my experiences with them have been negative.

    Automatic Parking Toyota / Lexus

I never parallel park, so that system seems like a (theoretically) nice feature, albeit one that needs some bugs worked out. Of course it will never substitute for human judgement. I wonder if the autoparking system were available on some POS Chevy, would Kevin be allowed to complain?

    Notebook Drives

Does anyone know when we will be seeing more drives like this from other makers? Is it the end of the like for larger PATA models? All of the PSDs and most external enclosures use PATA drives.

    When to Build Computer?

I want to use the old drives as much as possible. Currently there are over 3TB internal drives and piles of external drives, some in carriers. I want 4 PATA ports, 6 SATA ports, and 3 FW as well. A few PCI slots would be nice for the old cards. Can I use the old case and PS or are the...

Why not? A black heatsink provides a bit better radiant heat transfer to the surrounding environment, assuming that the heatsink is not absorbing radiation, e.g., in the sun.

NEWS: "USB Flash Drives Are Failing"

My gripe is that Flash forces itself to download for 2-3 minutes and then asks to install. During the download time the internet is useless. The message asking for permission to install should appear beforehand. This should be illegal IMO.
