I was sweating bullets there for the 3 minutes it takes for the 10MB firmware file to load into the 1Ds MK III. ;) The AF selection options (including return of the MK II registered point modes) are well worthwhile.

    Best movie you've seen

I saw that "300" film on the cable TV. Surprisingly boring it was for a war flick. I don't know what was up with the Scots and Brits in major roles; it did not feel very Greek or Persian to me.

SSDs - State of the Product?

I only want 15-20 GB for boot drive, etc., not 300GB. I hope there will be a 150 GB version to replace my nearly 5-year old 74GB drive.

Perhaps. My plan for shooting an informal occasion is to send RAW to the CF slot and JPG to the SD slot, then do some sort of batch stripping of the EXIFs on the jpegs. It's not practical to process numerous RAW files on a notebook in a reasonable time.
  23. LunarMist

    dSLR thread

Save for web seems to reprocess the image for compression. I thought there was a simple way to strip the EXIF data only. I don't understand why anyone would want the EXIF data in files, other than for instructional or specific technical purposes.

Don't compare me to Merc. As far as I can determine he is a brilliant young man with depressive or bipolar "internal" problems for the most part. These are very serious struggles as anyone who has dealt with a friend or family member with such challenges can attest. :( I'm not a happy camper...

It would not really be sooner, but perhaps much later. There are difficult decisions – all options suck in different ways. Western culture wants to keep the old, rotting bodies around forever. Western medical technology has the capability, not to mention the self-interest in racking up charges.
