    $300 Monitor

I know those monitors;), but I'm looking for something lower. It's part of the computer gift and I'll catch hell for going too far overboard.

Yes, and much of it was negative, especially on camera bodies. :( If the item is cheap then the risk may be acceptable. Prime lenses are relatively safe, wideangle zooms are iffy, and other lenses are in between. Consider whether the item is still serviced by the manufacturer. If repair parts...

This week for example, it was moving hard drives around and adding new controllers.

ISO 1600 is the highest I'd voluntarily go with any Canon, and that is pushing it even for 1D MK III. I use the 1Ds MK III up to 1250. Go with Nikon D700 if you want somewhat better high ISO imaging at a decent price.

Never mind. I restore images so frequently that somehow my current XP32 one is lacking the last daylight savings fix. The XP64 one is correct. I booted into each OS a few times today and the time software updated the system clock each time. ;) I do have one system with Win2K, but have not...

I'm not sure that is the answer. Spammers can manually create accounts, too.

    4-Port Internal Controller

Thanks. I received the card today and got it working in both XP32 and XP64. The burst rates are a little slower than normal (225MB/sec) though that may be due to the slot. It supports the hot swapping just fine, but the external BlackX drives only run at SATA 150. It's not critical since I...

I don't see that Minuet case at the NewEgg. Where do you buy it? What is the hardware virtualization needed for? I have a couple of the C2D CPUs. One is the original model and one is the wolfberg or something.

So that will function without an OS? Can the firmware be applied to the "old" X25-E?
