SSDs - State of the Product?

It only sees the X25-E, so I would have to root around and swap some cables to find the right port. :( What is the point with the 80GB G2 drive?

    Camcorder? Small digital camera?

I did enough recording in the 60's and 70's to become very used to my recorded voice. I still hear it that way in my head, although the voice has obviously changed. ;) It's not as scary as seeing a recent photo of myself and not recognizing that older guy. :o

Anyone have over 15,000 posts on a forum? It will take me until 2011-2012 though at the current rate. (Yeah I know Merc and perhaps David will have that much here by then.) I amazed at those with 40K. I'd never live long enough to make that, but I work and don't post there.

Bleh. The FASS is still twice as pricey as the Hibachi with more platters. Why? When will WD prices fall?

I've never heard of Grado except in this forum, but I am far behind the times. The last pair of high grade headphones I purchased was about 30 years ago, and eventually I was electrocuted by them. :shaking:

SSDs - State of the Product?

I don't care about that, since it is not for Win 7 yet. If the firmware improves performance in some way I would use it. The drive seems to working fine so far in XP64. I'm only using 7 GB, so it is underutilized.

    Need a Printer

I am using the all-in-one printer specifically not for photos. I want to conserve the photo printer which is well over ten times the cost. Just the auto switch of ink tanks back and forth in the Epson is about $5. In researching inkjet printers it is clear that the ink cost is inversely...

    problem Shipping Cost

At an online store I entered two addresses in the same zip code and the shipping costs were different. It is very odd since they are both standard residential addresses less than a mile apart. The FedEx and UPS rate calculator shows them to be the same.

    Need a Printer

I bought this one. The main reasons are that it is supplied with a full set of the XL cartridges (some printers have small or starter cartridges) and also has a covered front paper tray. The sheet fed scanner and fax are a bonus. At 40% off the unit will be worthwhile even if it dies in a...

HOW BIG A DRIVE FOR A PAGE FILE DRIVE?

32-bit Windows can use 3GB or >3GB with PAE, though it is limited by occupied hardware addresses to 3-3.6GB in most cases. There is usually a 2GB limit per process, excepting the few apps that work properly with /3. XP64 requires a 64-bit system, which you will have to look into, as well as...

HOW BIG A DRIVE FOR A PAGE FILE DRIVE?

Regarding size, I find 2GB is enough for the pagefile. There is no point in getting a SSD smaller than 30GB, and some of the smaller MLC SSDs are slower than their larger counterparts.

HOW BIG A DRIVE FOR A PAGE FILE DRIVE?

Yes. I've had the page file on the C: drive (X25-E) since 2008. Even when the second OS is booted from the relatively slow X25-M G2, the pagefile is on that X25-E. Do you have 8-12 GB of RAM?

The system is finished for now since it must be shipped by Monday. There is one oddity however. It is impossible to resume from suspend mode. The computer turns on for a few seconds and then shuts off, and cycles again. The BIOS does nothing. The power supply must be turned off for a few...

Cost is not really the issue. I need a printer that is well closed when not in use, so that it does not get dusty in between uses. The printer must also be compact since there really is no good place for it.
