    PCI-X SATA 2.0 Raid controller?

Age is the problem with Greg's whole system.

:) That is how it is with my corporate Blackberry. I think the line is there so that one can get away with a few more typos and less well-written e-mails. I would not mention the brand of a personal communication device - not that I have one.

I don't really understand the article, much less the devices. Is it a variation of this theory?

SSDs - State of the Product?

I don't think it is realistic to assume that mixtures of very old, old, and contemporary hardware will work well together. For troubleshooting purposes, you should simplify the system to one boot drive (preferably onboard port) and a single SSD on the questionable controller.

Oddly enough the GPS was shipped out to my location, but of course I am not there any more. Naturally I bought another GPS. The battery is running low.

Did you try one empty drive first, rather than in RAID 0 or with the OS on it?

That is what I would expect. One could also backup an image of C: to the other drive.

    dSLR thread

Usually people want to see relatively tight still shots of the critical players rather than a play formation, so think about the 300/2.8 and 400/2.8. Amateur and local night sports are often the most difficult since the lighting is substandard. :( 200/1.8 or 200/2 are also useful sometimes, but...

The era of 4-5 MP cameras were the best compromises in some ways. They did not have all that awful NR, but unfortunately few had any sort of IS.

Thanks. The Bluetooths are for the mouse. I need all 3 USB ports because there is no card slot. I can wait a while until it returns to stock. Are you still happy with the 1810T? Is the HD easy to swap out?

He is always that way. :) I think something is truly wrong with the SSD setup. Even a cheap PCIe 1x card with two SATA ports should be up to ~270 MB/sec. in bandwidth. Atto is sequential and should be limited by the drive.

What kind of idiot plays baseball with a drive? That would certainly be classified as abuse and void the warranty. SSDs can easily fail due to crappy controllers or defective flash memory, etc. Impact failure mode is hardly a concern.

Yes, that is what I stated above. I paid around $400 for a 2.1MP Oly camera. It was much better made than most of today's digicams, and had a nice optical viewfinder. The camera was supplied with an 8MB SM card that held 5-6 images. :D
