10x faster for what? The i7 CPUs are not that much faster than the Core 2, so there is no miracle. Of course the CF-51 is only a single-core (2GHz?) P-M machine, but not 10x slower. There are some recent PATA SSDs that help old notebooks perform better. I tried the X25-E in my notebook last...
I probably will not use the caddy itself, but will pull out the bridge board instead.
However, I am less than optimistic overall since the transformation is from ICH SATA->IDE->SATA. It's plain stupid that manufacturers used IDE optical drives for so long.
It depends on the area. In the city I think there would be some attention to low-flying craft, including from law enforcement types concerned about terrorist threats. You would also need to be sure that insurance covers property damages and injuries should the vehicle crash in a populated area.
I found one that looks to be the right kind. There is only one way to know for sure, so I ordered it. Somehow an adapter seems too good to be true. We shall see.
There will be larger capacities and the price difference will be more significant. A cheap, but decent 128GB SSD would be welcome for many notebooks. It won't be too long now.
I can wear the very large green sombrereo outside then. ;)
If the aircraft were within visual range, would it be possible to jam the controls by sending a strong signal focused with a parabolic dish? How much money do consumers spend on these spy planes anyway?
In the 1960s we had a 5-digit number for local calls and 7 for the county. 10 digits was only for long distance. Most phone numbers consists of 10 digits now, even for local calls.
Of course it is different when you have outlets to sell used goods. I used to have that option, but it is not feasible any more. I estimated about $7k or so per year depreciation, at least half of that on bodies. Eventually items are worthless and tossed.
It is a conventionally powered design, not a jet pack. Jet packs have been around for many years, but the operating time is low.
Perhaps the government will buy the flying packs for the military or law enforcement. I sure would not want to be on one in any significant wind. :crap:
If I'm doing the math correctly, the 50% percent probability of randomly unlocking the device is reached at 3.7 years assuming perfect timing and 24/7 attempts.
It is an odd device. "fun attitude"

I should have said that the upgrade from 500GB @ 5400 to the 7200.4 was useless. (There was no 640GB drive at the time.) I suspect that the newer 7200 RPM Hitachi is faster than the Seagate. However, I'm more interested in a 1TB drive now.
There are too many different OCZ drives with similar names. :( I have one of the 30GB models (OCZSSD2-1VTX30G) which is OK in XP. It is slower than the X25-M G2 when pushed with heavy writes, but most users don't do that. X25-E is still the better one to use.
