It's strange. I bought 4 of the APC BP1100s back a few years ago when Microcenter was closing them out for $150 and only 1 of them developed this problem. The other's work fine.
I have a APC BP1000 and a APC BP420 that I left at my parents house when I moved out that had the batteries die...
One of my APC Backups Pro 1100 has bad batteries in it. The batteries swelled up and expanded so much that I could hardly get them out of the UPS. I had to take the UPS apart to pry the batteries out.
Now APC has a replacement battery for the BP1100, the RBC6 that is the same as the battery...
Well, it seems most of the time I'm taking portrait type pictures and the 17-40 on a 1.6x camera gives a 27mm, and that doesn't tend to be too flattering, so going wider would be pointless. With my Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 I often found myself cursing that it would go wide enough during other uses...
I have a 17-40L F4 and it's a great lens for my 10D. For most practical usage I just can't see needing anything much wider. But, I guess if wide angle lenses are your thing... :D
I multitask very well and maybe that's why I don't have any issues, but how can you not hold a conversation with a passenger and drive at the same time?
I'm not big on talking on the cell phone while I'm driving. Usually I don't do it unless I'm on the freeway, and then I'll get over to a...
I think 9 and 3 is recommended these days to avoid broken wrists and your hands flying in your face if the airbag should be deployed.
Still... I very rarely put my hands at 9 and 3 because its tiresome and not comfortable.
Well, I broke down and bought a Silver Lian-Li PC-V2000 Plus. It's a little different from the case I linked to at Newegg. http://www.lian-li.com/Product/Chassis/S_V_S_PC-V2000plus.htm It was $229 at Monarch Computers and shipping was only $7.94 for FedEx Express Saver shipping. It ended up...
I have a RAID-1 and an RAID-5 on a 3ware card that has generally worked fine. I have to swap a few drives on the RAID-5 card cause they've gone bad, but no real complaints.
I already have 2 PATA WD3200SB's and I'm just looking to JBOD/(R)AID-0 them for now, but I'd rather Windows not handle...
Let us know when they're actually shipping. SED has been hyped and promised for a while, and we've yet to see a commercial product. They remind me of OLEDs.
So, you think another card will not exhibit the same problem?
I think I will replace it with something else. Any suggestions for a decent PATA RAID 0/1/JBOD PCI card?
I've never wanted to pay for a Lian Li case either, but it looks like I might get to. It is cheaper than the solution Handruin came up with.
I just looked at a few Supermicro cases and it doesn't look like what they have will work as well as the Lian Li or the "lovely" Thermaltake.
Other than your dislike for WD, what's the theory here? The Syba card now can't even read the model number of the drive correcly. Instead of being a WD3200SB-Mxxxxx it's a WD3200SB%Nxxxxx.
A Short cautionary tale:
Buy Syba SD-ATA133R card and two WD3200SB (raid edition) drives. Make (R)AID-0 array. Copy ~500GB of data to RAID array. 5 days later lose all data when Syba card decides it doesn't like 1 of the Raid Edition drives. WD Diagnostics DOS tool reports a cable error...
I'm looking for a "server" case that can handle at least 12 3.5" HDs (within 18" of the mobo) and say 2 5.25" optical drives and 1 floppy. >12 3.5" HDs would be even better. It needs to be able to accomodate an ATX mobo. Spaces for fans (preferably 80mm) blowing across the HDs is also needed...
Why do you want a 10x zoom? What are you shooting where you are so far away that a normal 3-4x zoom won't take care of it?
I have 3 digital cameras myself. The first is a Canon Powershot A20 that I don't use any more. It was my first digital camera.
I currently use a combination of a Canon...
So, if they have the same plastic case, and the same screen, and the same CPU, and the same optical drives, and the same wireless card, exactly what parts of them are different?
I'd probably go with the following in no particular order
X-Files
ST: TNG
ST: DS9 (later seasons)
Simpsons
Law & Order (original only)
CSI (LV only)
House
I have a special place in my heart for the Magnum PI, A-team, and Airwolf reruns I watched when I was younger too.
That is what I'm referring to, and I have to respectfully disagree. I have a Inspiron 8600 at home of my own. It is virtually identical to the Precision M60 we have at work here, and the Lattitude D800.
At my last job I had a Latitude C810 which is virtually identical to my friends Inspiron...
And to think, I just spent $720.00 a few weeks ago on 4 tires after I got a non repairable puncture in the sidewall of 1 tire. The 4 tires were almost to the wear bars, so I just replaced them all.
Maybe 245/40/18 tires weren't such a good idea.
I just bought a few new drives from Newegg to perform an overhaul of my PCs' HDs, and I need a few power splitters, a few rounded PATA cables. Newegg has great prices on hardware, but their cables are highway robbery. A $2.49 power splitter has $5.00 shipping buying a 2nd power splitter adds...
I have a NEC ND-3540A. I don't have any complaints. I've burnt a lot of +R's, -R's, and even quite a few DL discs. Other than some Ritek made +R DL discs (which are notoriously poor) I've had 0 bad burns (I always do a full verify).
160GB/platter drives should have a higher STR than the Raptor, they're cheaper, and unless I'm totally misunderstanding something if you're only using a small percentage of the drive the access times should be quite short.
I have grand plans to buy 5 new HDs, and move a bunch of my existing HD's around from main PC to my server and they're contingent on Seagate getting the 7200.9's in the sales channels. I'm trying to find the 80gig and 160gig 7200.9 SATA variants with 160gig/platters. Unfortunately, they still...
And here's the link I meant to paste in the last post.

Onkyo makes pretty decent stuff, as does Denon, Pioneer Elite, Sony ES.
They all have similar features and similar sound. They mostly vary from year to year as to who is cheating their power ratings the worst (with all channels driven). Lately Denon seems to be nailing their power ratings...
