Researchers: Hard Drive Capacities Up to 18TB?

Maybe they can use the WD hard drives in the Thailands. :D

There are many Digital Rebels, including the rather ancient Digital Rebel XT. Which model is that? I would look for a D7000, but don't wait too long. I'm not sure if they are made in the Thailand factor that is flooded.

Thailand Flooding Threatens Hard Drive Supply

Arrrgghhhh! I have not purchased a hard drive in two months. I should probably buy a bunch this week, but I was waiting for the 4TB editions.

    dSLR thread

It is a design limitation of the AF sensor, presumably related to the priority of the market: sports, PJ, and event photographers who are close to the subject or the subject is relatively large. The previous 1 series cameras since the late 1990s autofocused at f/8 in the center point as did...

So now the computer companies will use more Seagate drives? That is worse.

    I'd pay up to $9500 for 36MP, but not $6800 for 18MP.

    dSLR thread

The 1D-X is very controversial. Although the PJ, sports, and wedding/event users are enthusiastic about it, many of the general purpose photographers will not stand for the price tag and have no use for 12FPS. More importantly Canon abandoned serious and pro wildlife photographers with the...

    Best movie you've seen

No, I meant that the moviegoers would leave the theater because reality is so boring. I was looking at the movies recently and there is not a thing I want to go see, at least not locally. :(

No, I would not have WI-FI coverage and rarely 4G. I'm not sure how the e-mails work. Can you set them not to download the large attachments (e.g., 10MB) unless opened?

I don't like LG. We've had many problems with their products. :bsmurf: I want to get by with the minimum useful data plan and minimum phone plan, since the devices are too bulky/blocky to use for anything but brief conversations. Is the 4G necessary?

    iPhone syndrome

No, I won't get a BlackBerry. I want a decent-sized screen to go online if necessary. How much data is 2GB equivalent to on the monthly basis? Can I go on the internet for 5 min./day and receive 75 e-mails/day?

I must obtain a smartphone very soon. What is the best option for NMT $250 for the device and ~$75 per month service. Mainly I will be using it for the e-mail and only occasionally for the web and telephone.

    Best movie you've seen

Get a grip They are actors and it is a script, marketed toward the 18-25 YOs. Most of the FBI agents I've known are rather boring people and highly trained. Nobody would watch that stuff for 5 minuters in real life without walking out.

PFC/APFC power supplies need pure sine wave UPSs

I have old-school UPS units with a not-so-pretty waveforms and they power anything and everything. Some of the APC and Cyperpowder UPS now are receiving compaints because the damned switching output don't play well with the newer computer PS. Yet whose fault is that? Consumers want the...

    question easy liquid cooling?

I moved to the floor about 11 years ago when the number of drives started to accumulate and they had ball bearings back then. The orginal Atlas 10K drive was just too noisy at close range.
