Hey, it's true. I've read the stories on AVSforum from people trying to DIY their theater project, but are unable to get a permit because they're not a contractor or a trades person. This only seems to happen in the north east.

You don't need GFCI's everywhere. Only the kitchen outlets, bathrooms, & garage. You need Arc Fault breakers for the bedrooms.

I plan to start with the free beta of Insteon Explorer. I'm not interested in driving the system from a PC only something to allow me to program it without running around pressing buttons, so I don't see any reason to buy the HouseLinc 2 software.

If you're very careful you should be able to swap the metal rail the tubes are in.

My co-ax panel is a not a keystone panel with a bunch of keystones snapped into it. It's a dedicated co-ax panel I got pretty cheap on ebay. Personally, I didn't like the looks of the Monoprice keystone panel. I don't see how the keystones can snap in securely with only a hole in the metal...

I used A, my buddy who used to do wiring told me that's the most common. The key is to make sure you use the same thing on both ends. The lever is to help close the keystone on the wiring. I used the zip tie to secure the CAT6 wire to the upper hinged part of the keystone. This part:

Sure they do. They output the data that came directly from the sensor. Since they're not a Foveon type sensor they don't have RGB data for every pixel which makes them smaller than an uncompressed TIFF.

At my last job I often had 2 NIC's active. Windows XP favored the wired connection and some applications like Firefox no issues switching between them as I plugged into and unplugged from the wired network. IE 6.0 (corporate standard) didn't like changing networks and often had to be closed...

They do sound a little different than the flac files. It's probably somewhat compression artifacts though the tracks do seem to have a decent amount of reverb / effects on them. I didn't notice them being too processed though.

Well today I bought my first musical album that was distributed as an download rather than a physical album. It's lossless FLAC or wouldn't have done it though they get you for an extra $2 over the 256 CBR mp3's. link

My house had CAT5 installed for the phone lines. I left them alone. But, you are correct that RJ-11 will plug into stuff meant for RJ-45.
