Sandforce + Sandy Bridge = WTF?

I have a G.Skill Sandforce drive on my P67 motherboard. I haven't had any issues (that I know of).

They're definitely not fishing e-mails... I went to facebook.com and did the forgot my password thing right from their page. It's pretty easy. You deactivate it and don't go back for 14 days and it gets deleted.

For the second time in about a year someone has managed to create a Facebook account using my e-mail address. The first time I just started getting e-mails like I had an account. So, I recovered my password and shut the account down. This time I got all the confirmation e-mails requesting I...

FWIW, my Gigabyte SB board is garbage. I'm greeted by this screen every time I turn it on no matter what the settings. After I go into the BIOS fix the settings and warm boot it, it generally boots okay. I've tried several BIOS revision and they all have had problems cold booting. I can't...

SSDs - State of the Product?

Unless they plan to also sell controllers to other companies instead of just using them in house I can't see this being a good idea. You need to sell a lot of controllers to recoup your design dollars, and if you're the only one using them, your effective "sales" (I realize it's really internal...

You supported your argument with your emotions. The old "think of the children" cliche. Not with facts based in reality. There are safe reactor designs. I didn't say all reactors in use today were of the safe variety. I said that we know how to make safe reactors, and being opposed to new...

By the measure that they won't melt down in the event of the removal of active cooling. Try to keep up! Ps: My post was no more a personal attack than yours. Apparently though only you get to tell someone else that their argument is a straw man (even though my argument was not).

You're the one waving the straw man argument around, not me. Maybe you should look in the mirror. Many modern reactor designs are intrinsically safe. They don't meltdown even if you completely stop all active cooling of them. So, they're incapable of having one of those accidents where...

:erm: Absolute nonsense. Compare how many people die from nuclear power each year to how many die in automobile accidents. No one bats an eye about the automobile deaths, but we shouldn't use nuclear power because it's not perfect? Do you refuse to get in a car or step foot on a plane?

Well, that just doesn't sound like the near Chernobyl the media has been playing up. Then again, it's par for the course with the drive-by media / state run propagandists. Look at the bevy of lies they propagated during the whole hurricane Katrina story about people shooting at the...

Frankly, I'm more skeptical of the US media who are too busy hoping for a Chernobyl so they can use it to push their anti-nuclear agenda in the US to report facts rather than opinions. I also don't get the giddiness that Pradeep is reporting the bad news with.

Yeah, but Three Mile Island was an embarrassing case of human error. The automated systems had the problem under control and would have handled it correctly had the operators not decided the readings / measurements were bogus and manually overrode the system.

I think it's more complicated than that. Didn't they also use half as many 25nm chips with double the data density which drastically affected the performance?

Why is the site always slow?

Heh... I know namecheap isn't the only domain registrar that supports dynamic DNS either so there should be other options. I don't think the D-Link supports namecheap in their firmware though. At least in the case of namecheap you can also have the server run an agent program that updates the...

Why is the site always slow?

That sound like too much trouble... FWIW, the one domain I have is registered with NameCheap. They allow updating the IP dynamically as part of the cost of the domain (~$10 year). My router supports their update "protocol" so it updates the IP (when it rarely changes). So, depending on who...

I'd go for the don't ask don't tell policy. Just start hosting with your current plan and let them complain to you if they actually notice. Then you can play dumb, apologize, and pay the extra.
