There is nothing wrong with the 1D-X. It is disappointing to many users for what it is not. Certainly it is a step up from the 1D III that you have, but some people keep their 1D IV as well.
"Past times include: buying and selling drugs and related paraphernalia, using drugs as well."
Not funny at all. Around here sales is usually a serious charge.
I don't smell anything around the legs. Perhaps there is a little something nearer the top, but my sense of smell is not the greatest. It seems that you may be rather sensitive. It is probably inherent and there is nothing that can be done. :(
Not me, but maybe others that don't have orthopedic issues. Merc can tell us what his T520 weighs, but I bet it is 8lbs. with all the batteries. I'm a big fan of smaller and lighter being better. My Fujitsu can do a rated 14 hours with the bay battery that brings the weight to 3.5 lbs...
Where do you need to run a computer for such a long time without power? Even when I am in a tented camp in Africa, there is some power available every day or two.
Yes. IIRC his elderly mother is living there so they may have taken up temporary residence elsewhere if power is still out. I know some people in NJ and NY have days or weeks left to wait for restoration. The fuel situation is a cluster**** too.
The egg shipping buggers the mind. Two cheap 18" cables were packaged in a large box with tons of paper and then a 400+ SSD in a flimsy padded envelope with no signature required. Bozos.
Thanks, I never knew that name.
Does anyone know if you have a small disk and insert it into the vertical slot, will it fall out? I assume a small disk in a Veronica tray will fall out.
Well it should last a good long while if it is anything like the previous Japanese notebooks. I Have two from 2008 and even one from 2003 that still work fine. The oldest one has a dead battery, but that is to be expected.
I would probably use the boot drive for ~1000 hours assuming the notebook lasts until 2016-2017. Most likely I would change it out in a year or so. The main thing is that I can't afford to suffer from BSOD or other nightmare in the field. I would probably destroy the drive if it were not...
I see that the price for the 512GB Samsung 830 in $ is about the same as the capacity in GB. Is there any drive better and more reliable than the Samsung today?
I need the 2.5" FF for the notebook, but it can be 9.5mm in height. The Samsung 840 drive series is disappointing in that the max capacity is only 512GB, although all the chips are on one side of the board. I don't think space is the issue. My other option is to buy two 512GB drives or one...
