That story reminds me of a fun time in a lexus in tahoe...it was fun 'cause the luxus wasn't mine ;) If you're one for practicality, I can reccomend a VW golf. Hardly a looker, but the price is reasonable, the power is acceptible, and it's more versitlile than any compact I've seen. With the...

The only time I try homebrews is when I'm at my sisters place. She and her fiancee make some great stuff. They started "because it's cheaper" and continue "because it's better". I don't think it's cheaper anymore, considering the quality of the materiels they are using.

Outlook or outlook express? If the former, just do a search for *.PST and copy the big one. If the latter, it's a PITA

Machine names on a private network

I currently have about 30 accounts with them (business). I even have my own account rep. They are also offering wireless services for ~$50/mo if you are out of range of DSL.

Sorry, just looked up the numbers and they were a bit off... ADSL 1500k-3000k/384k-608k w/ 6 static IPs - $80/mo.

Machine names on a private network

Wow, let me reply in reverse order... $268.50 is a whole frickin lot of money for that service. I currently have 5 real IP addresses and 1500/256 for $120/mo. This is really the way to do it, as every machine I have has it's own "live" address. No "fake" DNS, and all your machines directly...

    Ever deepening hatred for WD

I own a whole bunch of WD drives, mainly 400BBs, 800JBs, 1200JBs, a 2500JB, and a whole lotta 360GDs... Not a sindle failure amond them, and none have gotten loud enough for me to notice. I don't have the manual itself, but I will be looking through their website in a minute. BTW, I just checked the origial CPU (2000+) in another system (A7N8X Deluxe) and it worked fine. Not boding well for the motherboard...I wonder how I could have killed it :(

I have tried another CPU in that system. It was originally a 2000+, right now it has a 2500+ Barton in there....same issue.

    In search of a super-firewall

OK, thanks for all the advice so far. I'm looking into a Sonicwall Pro 100. That'll do #1, #2, #4 The Gig-E managed switch will be able to handle #5 Now all I need is #3. Ideally, I'd like an appliance with a service (for it's ease of use). But if there is a free way to get the same results...
