    Well, one of those "always on" connections is me. I leave the browser open on my home PC and RDC to it from my client's offices. Actually, I always have 2 tabs open (computers and P&B) so that probably counts as 2 connections.

    Yeah, they referenced a MS KB article. But the article is talking about the drive's sensor being broken, and this was happening to BOTH drives (unlikely).

    Well, we got the system back from the techs...and when asked to provide an answer they said the following: The IDE cable used in the machine had a broken wire, this wire controlled the disk insert notification. Therefore the system never bothered to scan the disk. I think this is BS*....any...

    Well, I'm with you on that one as well....I like the weather to remain between 48F and 72F at all times. I can handle colder much better than hotter, but either is unpleasant.

    Buck, That card looks to be just what I am after. I am concerned about this warning on their page, however: I'll be sticking it in an ASUS A7N8X Deluxe motherboard...any ideas? i, I don't have time to look at that right now, but I'll check it out tonight. Thanks for the feedback!

    Ideally I'd like to be capturing to a PC 24/7. I'll be able to run cables to each location, power and data. I was hoping to get something for <$500, but after doing some research I don't know if that is possible.

    Hardly. IMHO Houston blows (no direct offence intended). Austin not only has better weather (and much lower humidity) but has a much better social climate. It's a college town and well known for it's live music.

    Well I just picked up another case of Alice WHite Chardonnay. Certainly not beer, but very nice nonetheless. And with a touch of Aussie flavor (though it is imported and bottled 40 miles from here).

    you seem to have hit the nail on the head. It is very quiet, and is 10-15% slower than louder drives. All depends on your priorities I guess. Me? I use raptors :mrgrn:
