    Apple makes the hate list

As I think i mentioned in another thread, the iPod hardware is very nice. You don't have to use iTunes just like you don't have to use notepad. It just happens to be the free software that came bundled with your hardware.

Why did F-Secure (a security company!) let Sony even think of keeping things quiet? Why didn't this pile of crap begin showing up on definition updates on October 21st? If not October 5th?

You can. You just need to buy a different software package from a 3rd party. When I reccomend an iPod, I include this into the price ($30) and explain why. The physical player is far superior to any of the competition. I'm interested in some of the linux-mods for expanded functionality.

The simplest configuration would be 6 wires spliced at the source, running between 20 and 150 feet each, to independantly amplified speakers. I'm thinking of introducing some sort of switching system to it, but I'm not sure about that yet.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I mean a low-level audio signal. Considering that this will be directly spliced to a number of wires, should I use some kind of amplification at the source? I'd rather not, as that would complicate things.
