Also want to add: I've been using a 2 second shutter delay to get my hand clear - is that enough? Or should I use a 10-second delay?

    Need macro indoor camera advice

Thanks for the advice, Tannin. I've found that the camera can do F 7.2 if the optical zoom is completely...zoomed? but that the minimum focus distance is now 50cm! It's at 10cm when completely zoomed out, but then I can only manage F 4.0, and only at ISO 100 and higher. Working with the...

Why do I always end up committed to projects I'm not qualified for? Anyway...I find myself needing to take the best pictures possible of jewelry (silver, gold, and stones). I have control of the environment and just need the cleanest shots I can get. I'm currently using a Fuji FinePix S602Zoom...

    Innovation in graphic card designs

Any comments on this contraption? In my designs I'd be more than happy to get the heat of the GPU near the heat of the CPU. It seems every case is designed to deal with the latter and not the former. By doing this, it allows the dual 120mm fans common to the top-back of high-end cases to deal...

    150GB Raptor announced

People always tend to pay ridiculous amounts for "the best" - whatever that is. This is the best SATA drive. It's not the best 10k rpm drive, but I would pay more to avoid putting a SCSI card in my machine.

    Samsung 204T versus Dell 2005FPW.

Drool. That is the sexiest thing I've seen today. Isn't that way above the DVI spec? Any guestimates on the price? My 191T is getting a bit old in the tooth, it will soon be sent to the kitchen.

    Motherboard selection dificulties. PCIEx16 and a PCIEx8?

Most of the SLI boards I have looked at (actually, all the consumer-level PCI-e boards) have ben limited to 20 channels of PCI-e. Thus the funky behavior and speed divisions amongst the slots. That ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe claims that it is using a different chipset. I'd bet that the chipset gives...

    Help w/ high-end PSU

Mubs, The rail tou care about in that system is the 12v rail (for both the CPU and video card) and those 600W PSs that you're looking at are about double what you need in my experience. If you get Seasonic's 400W you should be fine. How many hard drives?

Your favorite browser is now v1.5

I'd say that depends on how many extnsions you have installed and how it sales to many tabs/windows. If that's a "clean" install, it's a bit heavy but not bad. It 47 tabs in 7 windows take 1GB of RAM, that'd be a bit much.
