    Terrestrial Engineering. Objections?

5% survival rate would be a 20:1 kill ratio, correct? Look at it this way, if we sort by highest income than we could do without SS, Medicare, Medicaid, Unemployment, Welfare and all those other support-the-lazy/incompetent services while not damaging out tax base! *runs*

All in ones, for a very small business...

I have a Brother 7820N that I like. USB or Ethernet interface (useful if you have more than one computer). Nice laser printer, good scanner with ADF, and simple fax with a few autodial slots. Software isn't too troublesome, though it is a memory hog.

Handruin: I'd love a chance to set up a clean, low-contrast, greyscale skin. If you would give me the opportunity somehow. Lost: In your profile you can set the timezone, that should fix your clock ;)

Thanks for the feedback, I will try your suggestions in the morning. It's 12:30AM and I just got home from dancing. I am stoked, though, I got my 7-button mouse working in firefox! ;)

I'm afraid their isn't a control center, in this one, but I did go into the system settings and play with "connections", "network settings", and "sharing". I was able to set a default username and password for windows shares, which is nice, but my mount still doesn't work. I also went into...

    Yay! I installed Fedora...now what?

Well, as it turns out, making the user the owner of a folder in /mnt/ is a pita. Fine, I'll mount it to /home/david/server. That has the right permissions! The file or folder /home/david/server does not exist. but it does. Help?

    Yay! I installed Fedora...now what?

It seems that the user doing the mount has to be the owner of the directory where I'm trying to mount. Googling now for how to take ownership of a file  I'm not used to being a n00b.

After doing a re-install of the whole thing then re-creating the line in fstab...no, it wasn't. So I installed it (these package managers rule) and I now get the following message: Could not mount device. The reported error was: smbmnt must be installed suid root for direct user mounts...

Well, I booted to the cd and it seems I have indeed broken something. I can access the network fine from here, but still can't mount a network share locally. Other than that and finding a god media player, I think I'm pretty happy. Based on what I read in the thread linked to earlier, it might...

After trying to follow these directions and significant googling, here's where I think I am: A username and password that has permissions to the windows share? Check. Check. I've been all over this config and can't find a firewall. But I was able to browse to the share, so check, I think. I...

The thing that I find makes the most difference is the steaming hot towel they lay on your face before and after. After getting a great straight-razor shave in Nepal, I looked into all the possible options. These days I use a telescoping convex mirror and shave in the shower. It's the most...

    Terrestrial Engineering. Objections?

You hit it on the head, I think. When it comes down to it, people want money more than they want representation. Most people these days think representation is a way for them to look out for their interests, so they can make money. If someone offers them a "shortcut", many are shortsighted...

    World Cup 2006, June 9 - July 9

I have played golf. For a while it was a business neccesity, and I played quite regularly. Really long drives and a 150+yd lob wedge compensated well for my lack of putting, allowing me to brag of a 6 handicap. But I don't play anymore, it's not that interesting to me. It, like most ball-based...

I feel it's important for there to be an element of danger in my hobbies. If you are playing a safe type of sport, you never know the caliber of the others playing with you. When we're racing in the open ocean; just the fact that someone has done it before, lived, and choose to do it again...

I've never really been attracted to sports where balls are involved; I guess I've been happy with the pair I have. *ducks* Sailing, Auto Racing, Rock Climbing. Still no fun to watch, but at least you can die doing it. That tends to keep the excitement up while competing.
