    Quiet 120mm fan

I use the Scythe S-Flex fans exclusively. I used to use the really expensive orange ones, but the two slower speeds of the S-FLEX are fantastic. Get the 800-rpm model if you have lots of fans to make up for the airflow, get the 1200-rpm version if you need to overcome some resistance or are...

e_dawg, Thanks for the info and suggestions. I've spent the last hour reading about the DIY panels...very interesting. Unfortunately, we have no storage space at the location and we all drive hatchbacks. So anything sufficiently large would be impractical.

Sounds like you covered most of it. A replacement motherboard shouldn't be too hard to find, and it shouldn't be too expensive, so don't kill yourself trying to diagnose the issue.

I disagree. Exercise is a price that needs to be paid for certain pleasurable pursuits. I enjoy outdoor photography and sailing. These require a fair amount of the stuff. Pretty much everything I enjoy with a significant other requires a fairly strenuous work-out. ;)

New project.... One of the places I teach tango is at a church downtown. We rent their 6000 sq. ft. ballroom, and they provide quite possibly the worst stage speakers ever. To top it all off, the room (roughly 60'x100'x30' ceilings) has very serious reverberation/echo issues. If I had a budget...

Genuine Advantage, if you choose not to install it, is re-added to the list over and over again. I don't know if this happens when you do install it, because my systems are either automatic (and I allow it, obviously) or manual (and I deny it every time).

MINIMALIST Video out computer for playing stuff on TV Surround sound system

Exactly as Merc and Pradeep said; you want all audio sent to a receiver. Idealy, you want it sent there as a digital stream via coaxial SPDIF or optical toslink; coax is of course, cheaper. Ideally you also want an Auzentech soundcard that can encode all the PC sound into that digital stream...

CPU UPGRADE FOR GIGABYTE GA-K8N PRO-SLI

The S939 CPUs are already on their way back up...I don't think there is any more down for them. AMD has already discontinued over half the product line. The following is math that I'm sure Merc is aware of, and I don't mean to sound patronizing in spelling it out. 4096000 pixels (30") vs. 2304000 pixels (24") vs. 3840000 pixels (current 22" 4:3 * 2 monitors) So a 30" has 178% the space of a 24" and 106% the space of my pair. The questions...

CPU UPGRADE FOR GIGABYTE GA-K8N PRO-SLI

As Buck said, that board will support any 939 CPU. The fastest of which is an Opteron 2.6Ghz Dual Core chip for $330. But I would suggest that a Dual Core 2.0Ghz 3800+ for $115 would be the cost-effective upgrade.

HURRY! Dell 3007WFP for 1600$CAD until Jan 20th

AFAIK, there are only 2 games that support multiple monitors; the MS Flight Simulator series and Supreme Commander. So if you are looking at a better gaming experience, you need one large monitor. And it would probably be flanked by my current pair of VP2130b 22" LCDs ;)

    Wireless Router & cards

If you have DSL and the device supplied by the telco includes a switch, it is a multi-purpose device; including a DSL modem, NAT-capable router, and switch (at least). Just connecting your SMC (ethernet) router to the phone line would not work, as it doesn't have a DLS modem in it (DSU).
