Make it a dark color with lighter lettering. I don't care what dark color, but the darker the better. Black is the best, but very dark green or blue will do also. Look at Tannin's site for help on this.

It is actually 3D. It has some really good graphics also. The engine used in Serious Sam is incredible, with hundreds of enemies on the screen at the same time. Pick up a copy it's good for at least 10 hours of gameplay, and it hardly costs anything.
