    Small hosting services

I use hostingshot their cheapest plan in $3.49 a month with no setup fee. It is a little more than you wanted to pay but you do get 50MB of dataspace and 1000MB of transfer/month. And 10 pop3 accounts.

    Root Beer

I'm in Homewood, IL for the summer, working at a place called Computer Business Solutions. Mostly I sit in an office writing VBA code for Access Database applications. Recently I have been researching some point of sale systems for one of our clients. I don't particularly like writing code...

I had a chance to see Yes at the taste of Chicago about 2 years ago. They played a free concert with Kansas who is one of my favorite bands. But, we got tired of standing after Kansas played so I missed Yes. I am not all that farmiliar with a lot of their music, but I know their hits pretty...

    Konqueror looks great.

I got the images off of usenet right after they came out(alt.binaries.cd.image). I checked the Suse site at the time and they weren't available so when I saw the chance to get them, I did. I've tried to use linux in the past, but have become stumped, when it takes me an hour to get an...

Does Red Hat 7.3 have KDE 3? I also have the ISOs for Suse 8.0 sitting on one of my drives. It would be a waste to go and download redhat when I already have Suse.

    Headphones

I have a pair of Sennheiser HD580 headphones. They cost around $175 and sound excellent with any kind of music. These really are made so that you can use them for hours at a time. I never get fatigued when I listen to these headphones. One thing to note is that they do use an open ear design...

Mercutio, The best camping/canoeing I have ever done is in the boundary waters in Minnesota. My friends and I go up every year for a week (for 5 years). It is canoeing and camping to the extreme. Some days you don't ever see another person for an entire day. Going to the boundary waters is...

The great hard drive cache myth

    Personal life hell

That's why cell phones are so nice. I can call anywhere in the country for no charge. Since I have a ton of night-time minutes (2150) I can talk for hours on end, or until my battery dies. Lots of people complain about the lack of daytime minutes, but if you sleep all day then that isn't much...

    Who's a Daddy? Who's a Daddy?

I'm 20 and I have half sisters that are in their 40s. My older sister was born in '59, and I was born in '81. Which makes her 22 years older than me. I was an uncle when I was 8 years old.

Intel i960 single channel, AMI, Perc/2, raid cards? Any good

I just checked out the Adaptec site to see if I could find out if you can have multiple RAID controllers installed at the same time. I couldn't find info on any of the new SCSI RAID cards. The older AAA cards do not support more than 1 controller at a time. I did find that more than one...

    Opinions about OpenOffice 1.0.0?

Does it have a grammar check? I would consider switching from MSWord as soon as I can find a replacement that has a good spell checker, a good thesaurus, and a good grammar check. A macro language that works well is also needed. I already know VBA fairly well, which is one reason that would...

    Exciting technology

There was an article on Slashdot a few weeks back about the stress that a CD can take before it blows up. It happened to most CDs at about 28K RPM. A 100x drive would certainly be very close to this especially on the inner tracks. A drive with multiple laster is the obvious answer to this. I...
