    HP laserJet 4p any opinions?

P stands for personal, it will be smaller not as well built and slower. N does stand for network. I can't remember what M stands for, but I think it has something to do with post-script.

    HP laserJet 4p any opinions?

I would only buy a used unit that has a low page count or has been completely refurbished/repaired. I wouldn't even bid on an auction that doesn't mention page count because it means the unit has a really high pagecount. Personally I would look for a LJ5 you will appreciate the extra speed...

    HP laserJet 4p any opinions?

The Laserjet 4 is a big printer and will cost a bundle to ship. I'm not sure how big the 4P compared to the LJ4 but I doubt it is small. I bought a LaserJet 5 for around $140, with less than 7,000 pages printed on it. It has worked very well for me. The LaserJet 5 is not quite as heavy as...

Software RAID 0 cannot be used as a boot drive in Win2k. RAID 1 can be used as a boot disk, but it is only supported in Win2k Server and above.

    Videocards for dual displays

You can get Geforce4 MX440 that are PCI. But, who knows how good their 2D quality is. I never have seen any problems with the output of either my old Geforce2 Pro, or my never Radeon 7000. I don't have the newest screen, but it is decent (Sony 220GS).

If you were to buy a laptop: brand?

If I could find enough replacement programs for OSX then I would definitely buy an iBook or Powerbook. They are just soooo much cooler than any x86 laptop on the market. One of my friends has one, it is a little slow, but other than that it is very well designed. But, they are not the...

    10K Western Digital SATA Drive!!!

I wonder what kind of access time it will have? Will they actually use quality SCSI actuators in it or will it use the same lethargic ones as their IDE drives use? 5 Year warranty is a plus, but the final cost will be drastically higher as a result. I think I will still stick to SCSI (at...

I'd say if you don't care about capacity then pick up the 10k3, it is a fine drive. It should be noticeable faster than your old drive too.

    monitoring network bandwith

I use Netstat Live to monitor the total amount of bandwidth being used. However, I'm looking for a program that will tell me how much bandwidth each application is using. The reason for this is because sometimes I see high bandwidth numbers and I don't know where they are coming from.

Space Shuttle Columbia Lost During Reentry

Actually there were several reports of people that found debris before they were told what it was and were injured by chemical burns and the like. So it isn't completely made up that the debris is dangerous.

Won't SiSoft Sandra do something like that? Or just use system information, if that gives you enough information. What type of database are you planning on using? How are you going to code this to work in a sequence? Some type of script?

Looking for text editor that can do math

If you need a better way to automate and if there are indeed 10,000 of these files I wouldn't even bother working on them by hand. I would just sit down and write a program that would read them into an array of strings and manipulate the strings from there.
