This is my disc of choice: Ritek DVD-R I have burned over 300 of these without any problems. They aren't too expensive either.

Whoops. Well that is an interesting news piece as well. I wonder how long it will take before Wal-Mart sells crap like that in this country (USA). My guess is never. Here's the right one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817501006

    Car Buying Advice Needed

Have you priced the difference between buying and leasing? With some of the low-interest rate loans buying can be quite a better deal. My car loan is at 0.9%, which is basically nil. With a leased vehicle you get nothing after the lease is over.

I can't surf after some time of idling

Dang. Well, I am back using Bittornado after about 3 days of Azureus. Maybe you can try again tomorrow for Handruin's sake.

I can't surf after some time of idling

I'm running Azureus 2.3.04. JRE is build 1.5.0_04-b05. So both are quite new. What kind of download speeds do you get?

I can't surf after some time of idling

Do yourself a favor and at least try Bittornado to see if you get faster speeds.

I can't surf after some time of idling

It also has been crashing on me continually. Everytime I try to exit the program Javaw.exe which is the executable that runs behind Azureus hits 100% CPU usage and does not close until I manually end the task.

I can't surf after some time of idling

I get slower download speeds, in the neighborhood of 1/4 of what I get with Bittornado. It also kills my connection somehow, to the point where the download will continue, but I am unable to load a website or ping anything.

Haven't try Tab Mix. I tried Tabbrowser Preferences and it did not have enough options. I guess I will try Tab Mix if TBE gives me anymore problems.

    FireFox v1.0.7 - something buggy

I was just going through and a lot of the site I regulary visit do not have ads. I guess if I am doing a google search and I click on random links I will get a lot of ads, but you have to manually tell adblock what to block, correct?

    FireFox v1.0.7 - something buggy

Crashed for me. I am almost certain that it has something to do with Tabbrowser Extensions. The only other extension I have running is Flashblock. This is a very recent install as I just installed a new OS.

I can't surf after some time of idling

Well I had been using BitTornado for the last 6 months or so, but when I installed Win2k3 it wouldn't work. So I installed Azureus which is a piece of crap. I reinstalled BitTornado and it works perfectly. Doesn't kill my connection and also transfers a lot faster as well.

I can't surf after some time of idling

How about Azureus? Is it as big of a bandwidth hog as BitComet? I have a similar problem where I cannot get any kind of website to load until I kill the download. Then I can immediately start loading webpages after the download is stopped.

Well I went for it and installed Server 2003 on my machine. Seems to work rather nicely. Faster than 2000 as well. Nice to have a clean system since I haven't reinstalled in a good long time. Haven't had a chance to install any Adobe products yet. But, will let you know if I have any problems.

    DVD Burning Question

You can rip the DVD with DVD Decryptor. And you can burn the image with that program as well. However, if your DVDs are too big I would get DVD Shrink to take out the Extras on the DVD that you don't need. Both of these programs are free.

    Windows *Vista*

Sounds like it might be worth a shot. Especially since I haven't reinstalled my OS in about 2-3 years. You could probably acquire a copy of Photoshop in about 2 hours on bittorrent to "test" on Server 2003. Just for reference I hate Luna. I turn off every conceivable pretty option.

    Windows *Vista*

If you have time, could you try a newer version of Photoshop? Like CS or CS2? No rush, just if you are bored. Have you used any Macromedia products with 2k3: Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, etc.? How much more memory hungry is 2k3 than 2k? I am currently forced into only using 512MB because...

I am no longer a student. I only have one computer to use, (other than my work laptop) so I don't want to spend hours and days installing an OS that may or may not work with software that I need. It would be easier if I had an extra drive to use, but I don't. Maybe Mercutio can provide some...

    IE is buggered

    Need a wireless PCI adapter

As an addendum: I never said I was trying to pick up a signal from my WAP, now did I? When you are trying to leech a signal most people wouldn't like it if you drilled through the wall and just plugged a cable into their router. But, this information is also relevant for something that isn't...

    Need a wireless PCI adapter

This is probably an easy question, but I want to make it more difficult. I am mainly looking at Linksys units, but would consider something else if someone here highly reccomends it.
