    Where's everybody?

I have played with it before for a short period. However, this was almost 2 years ago and I'm sure it has progressed a lot since then. I have been sticking with Joomla for a few reason. 1. I have used it quite a bit already, so know my way around pretty well. 2. It has a ton of extensions and...

    Freecom ToughDrive

You could always create RAR sets with parity volumes to get around this. I have burned CDs that have lasted for over 10 years. I have also had CDs/DVDs go bad after a year.

    The Atom is here

I know someone trying to sell a Lotus Exige. It's in Chicago though. Bright Yellow. Apparently the ride is pretty harsh. He's a big guy and can't fit into it very well. I have no idea why he bought it in the first place. I think it has less than 2k miles on it.

I'm around, but this place has been dead tonight. I should probably go to bed anyways.

    Is Photoshop CS3 worth the add'l $

If you want to do simple photo editing you could also try out Paint.net, which is also free. It does require the .Net Framework, so install that first if you haven't already done so.

    Where's everybody?

All of your reasons are valid, except for this one. I have modified Joomla templates drastically enough that there is no way to tell it is running on Joomla. I do agree that trying to modify the code is a real pain. I have no idea what most of it does. Plus, modifying core files can make...

Should There be a Ban on Incandescent Lamps?

How will the light you are building compare to my light? I wish they would publish how many lumens it emits so I could compare it with others. How much will it cost to build, and are you interested in selling them? I would like to get a light that is actually bright enough to light a dark...

    Is Photoshop CS3 worth the add'l $

CS3 doesn't seem to be all that much better than CS2. What is the difference in price? CS3 is nice because you can get a package that includes all the old Macromedia products that work a bit better with Adobe products. That probably doesn't matter to you if all you need is Photoshop. CS3 is not...

    Remote Desktop

Just tested it out at work and it seems to work perfectly. Why doesn't the Remote Desktop Connection interface have an option for this? It seems like it would be the default behavior most people would want.

    Remote Desktop

I remote desktop to my home computer from work to do various things. When I login the system starts a new session for that user even if a current session has already started for the same user. Is there a way to force it to use the current session rather than relogging in?

    New HDTV Purchase

I don't plan to use it for operating the computer for a long period of time. It would be used to browse through media, select something, and then play it on the screen. Maybe a small amount of web browsing, but nothing for an extended period of time. This article about Plasma burn-in is...

    Something Random

I've fallen running a couple times. One time I slipped on ice going around a corner and fell into an icy puddle. I then had to run about another 1.5 miles to get to my destination in soaked clothing. I wasn't injured, just really cold. Another time I was running a cross-country race and tripped...

    New HDTV Purchase

I'm not planning on replacing my primary computer monitor. This is more for my living room. When I buy a new TV I will be connecting my computer to it via DVI. I don't really like how LCDs look for a lot of content, I prefer plasmas. I have seen a Westinghouse 1080p LCD connected via DVI and it...

    Core Upgrade Idea

I'm running with the case open because of that cable that is too short and if I leave the computer idle the CPU fan stops running some of the time. This thing really runs cool. The heatsink is barely warm to the touch.

    Core Upgrade Idea

Didn't need to repair or do in-place install. Posting from the new system. I guess I got lucky. The CPU 12 volt cable is not long enough to reach, so the power supply is currently resting on top of the case. I think this will take care of it. Anyone know if I can order one somewhere that won't...

Very funny. I have one sitting in a box in the management office, I just can't get to it. Hopefully, it will get dropped off tomorrow. Back to one of my previous posts, has anyone been able to plug-in an Intel motherboard and not have to reinstall? Running Win2k3.

Another Digital Camera Thread - Point and Shoot

The ride was capped off nicely by a very nice tail wind in the city. I averaged over...
