IPD editor for Nextel (Blackberry with direct connect)

Funny enough, that exact capability is exactly why I need one ;) I hate phone calls, and despise voice mail. The only way people will choose to contact me via e-mail for "priority" or "emergency" stuff is if it is just as fast as calling me. I've had to directly demonstrate this to a couple of...

I can second that. When I buy fans, this is what I get.

SSDs - State of the Product?

That "unlimited" sounds wrong. The chips will wear out if they are NAND. It might take 10 years, but it isn't unlimited.

120mm Case fans with adjustable speed - recommendations?

I used to buy really expensive fans and rheobus units (I even have some of the BigNG supercontrollers around), but I just use the Antec 3-speed fans. They are plenty good and really quiet. They aren't SPCR "silent", but that's OK for us "normal" people.

IPD editor for Nextel (Blackberry with direct connect)

I hate blackberries. I knew this before I bought one. I didn't really know why, but I knew I hated them. I've had the phone for a couple months, so it is well past time for me to set up my contacts. I have lots. Hand-keying them into the phone seems like a really awful way to waste 3-5 hours...

    3.5" Hot-swap compatible bracket for 2.5" drives?

That is an option, but an expensive one. This is just supposed to be an incremental upgrade to an existing machine.

    3.5" Hot-swap compatible bracket for 2.5" drives?

I'm looking to install some SSDs in a server that has a Supermicro chassis with hotswap bays built in. Is there any particular bracket that people have tried or heard works?

    Audio Equipment

It does seem like it is a configuration issue and not the speaker. Playing BR movies works fine, but DVDs lose huge amounts of dialog. It is a complex setup, so I'll investigate further and likely open a new thread. Thank you for the replies, I'll look into a new center channel anyway ;)

    MP3 player rant

I'm looking for a player that can output to VGA and loop a video clip on an external monitor. Cheaper is better, the clip is likely to be 5 minutes or less. Sansa Fuse for $80? Can it do it?

IE is the equivalent of a condom that has been hit with a shotgun. Google is the one telling you they are collecting information, MS is the one that has been caught over and over collecting information without telling you. Which would you prefer?

I do want to buy a used car

That price range is difficult to understand, really. You'll end up with cars like mine (2003 VW Golf GL, manual, 184,000 miles) with plenty of dings and wear but nothing major. Or you could end up with something truly trashed internally that seems OK for an older car on the outside. I'm not...

It looks like they are just intentionally crippling the i7 core and offering it much cheaper. Still a good deal; fast chip, low power, decent price, but I hate it when corporations do this artificial product differentiation BS.

Rsync for Windows (or similar) app suggestions?

At least for my use, deltacopy isn't that important. Each file isn't that big, and isn't likely to be edited that much. If it has to copy an entire file each time it is changed, that's OK. So long as it doesn't have to copy unchanged files every day.

I think the reason you are having a hard time finding it is because it couldn't work. Even if it was just for charging, IIRC, the USB bus needs to allocate power to the device.

    Building Petabytes on a budget

    Recommended Budget Mid-Tower Cases (ATX)?

There are many reasons not to like the oversized fans, not being able to replace them with something quieter being #1 on my list, but they do move a massive amount of air very quietly. They are often the best way to cool a warm machine.

I actually haven't had a drink in about 7 months. I used to drink quite a bit, but don't think I ever had a problem with it. Just decided to stop and my life (and health) have been better. Made the trip to Vegas much cheaper, too.

    Recommended Budget Mid-Tower Cases (ATX)?

If I'm putting in 6 drives, I'm also putting in a good PSU and solid cooling...typically that doesn't spell budget case. I'd probably do the Antec Three Hundred.
