Me neither. There are grey-market RS6 Avants out there, one can only hope.

SSDs - State of the Product?

The machines are usually P4s and being upgraded to C2Ds or C2Qs, depending on task. The drive in the one I pulled today was a 7200.7

SSDs - State of the Product?

40GB is still plenty for enterprise workstations; no data allowed on the machine at all, even the "My Docs" is forwarded to the network. Not unauthorized apps, either. The largest corp image I have at the moment is 28GB.

Nope. Just got some more 40GB though. Never heard of the "Lost Planet" game I got with it.

    Something Random

I've spent $45k on home improvements this year and we don't even have a kitchen yet. I've brought in two guys to do the finishing bits (I don't trust myself with stuff that is visible). They each make what I do each week, and it's been two weeks already. Hopefully just a couple more and we can...

    I need a bed

I hated mine. Returned it well within the 90-day money-back guarantee. It doesn't keep it's shape, it is firm when you get on it but you wake up in a hole. If you tend to shift in your sleep you will feel trapped. It doesn't breathe at all. Ended up getting a W Hotels Posturepedic pillow top...

I'm sure you've stuck in a normal RAID card, so are familiar with the normal delay. This is shorter than most, well under a second, but it is there.

It is only 720P, but I imagine that is usually enough for a 27" viewed from some distance away. I suppose it also depends on the source.

Anyone have a suggestion on a new washing machine?

If price is a priority and gimicks aren't then this probably won't help you, but I've had my top-of-the-line Samsung units for two years now and they are awesome.

    Win 7 network problem

An interesting point, Sol. Unfortunately, so much infrastructure was set up statically in the 192.168.0.x range that I would be very hesitant to move it.

    Win 7 network problem

For the record, Android has a neat app that allows you to override DHCP settings on an AP-specific basis with static profiles, and that does support other subnet masks. I don't know if the newer 2.2 version of Android supports this stuff on it's own, as my phone sucks.

    LSI WarpDrive

The thing I really like about it? No cables, no configuration. Plug it in, and go. I've also had trouble finding a RAID0 config on a RAID card that would match the performance of these out of the box. I don't doubt that it's possible, but if that is your intent, just buy one of these.

Best hardware solution for RAIDless storage (20+ drives)

At this point, I would confirm compatibility with 3TB+ drives before I bought anything. Even if you don't plan on using the drives now, you likely will eventually. None of my Areca or 3Ware cards work with 3TB WD drives.

For the record, in testing, older iPhones/iPad touches can't deal with a DHCP subnet mask other than 255.255.255.0. They set themselves to that regardless of DHCP server setting.

    Win 7 network problem

I'm just talking about changing the subnet mask on everything to 255.255.0.0 and assigning stuff to the Class-B instead. It's just 192.168.x.x, so I don't see it being a problem in theory.
