Well, we've interviewed a few more people, and frankly, I've been disgusted with the level of candidates we seem to be getting from the employment agency, considering we culled 75% based on their resumes instantly. (And it's not the $$$ being offered, as we are offering about 10% above industry...

Just my 2cents... As Merc mentions, you need to find that lone server that Milton is still using, and highly recommend (if financially viable and time permissible) to visit each site. At least the visit should be a meet-greet session with remote office staff so they can put a face to a name...

Well, we thought we found someone, and unfortunately he didn't work out for a variety of reasons, including lack of basic knowledge (I guess he got lucky with his answers on the tech questions in the interview), had a habit of placing blame or fault on others when it was clearly himself at fault...

Way to install SCSI boot disk w/o a floppy drive?

We use USB Floppies all the time, but you need to modify the *.oem file with the driver set to load the UMS drivers at boot, so when it's installing the drivers it can see the floppy drive. <cut'n'paste from email> Here Goes the Fix: Create your Storage device driver disk and open...

SSDs - State of the Product?

I guess it's time to ditch the 4 drive RAID 0 array I've been running, since it's beating that! (Running 4x 10K.6 on a U320 controller). I'm lucky to 180MB/s read STR! Just petty about the lack of space. (I would be going from ~144GB down to 36GB). Hmmm... Looks like SSD will be in my next system.

    Camorders - DVD/Flash

Thanks, but since we use Windows (wifes) and Solaris (mine), iMovie isn't really an option. I do have an older copy of the ULead suite (which exports to DVD fine) so will use that on her system, and for mine, either Kino or Cinelerra.
