The drive is partitioned and I restored an image, but I still can't get it to work properly. It just won't boot from the M.2. The BIOS indicates SATA 1 for both an SATA SSD and the M.2 drive. Is that right or perhaps some conflict exists?

Oh, I meant 200mm. The case is actually a Corsair. I was not wearing near vision glasses and there is a boat logo on the emblem. Our family had an Olds Cutlass type of wagon around 1980 or so that I drove occasionally. What a useless POS engine it had, with all the constant EEPROM or...

That's what I have. I'm not a fan of the MSI BIOS, but it I was tired of the Gigabyte boards crapping out. I started with an XP241 and then replaced it with the SM951 when that was introduced. There was little improvement, since the XP241 is quite fast. I decided to resist further upgrades...

IIRC perhaps you have the previous model (DS3615xs) at work? The fans are in an enclosure and the whole module pops out for a quick change. I'm sure that is good for a business stocking spare parts, but the module has some plastic tabs that would be marred if not destroyed. I'm also pretty...

I upped the ECCeRAM to 48GB and am using the SSDs as non-sequential. I think that is as good as it gets. The hard drives are noticeably less 'chattery' than before. Anyway, it is fine for practical purposes and faster than a single drive for sure. The only real complaint at this point is the...

XQD should be placed in every new high-performance camera, but the CF organization is not going away so they had to adapt. It is too bad that there is not a mini-XQD format as that would solve card space problems in smaller cameras.

The problem is that I only need write caching not read/write. When reading only, somehow the SSDs are slowly filling up. After 800GB read, they are over 90% full and then get closer to 98% eventually. I assumed that once they were nearly full the read speeds would return to normal, but they...

SD cards can split along the edge connectors. They are too small for my liking. CFast 1.0 never made it to mainstream products and 2.0 was already obsolete on introduction since the SATA interface already limits the flash speeds. CFExpress is the new standard and it includes XQD which uses a...

I underestimated the size and power of this NAS. It is rather larger, but not so huge after all the packaging was removed. The fans are somewhat loud since it defaults to medium speed when there is a PCIe card installed. Full speed is quite loud and not what I would need anyway. I may try to...
