So...is everything's dry now or is it still the apocalypse? We hear less about the flooding in the News. I don't know if it's because the medias became bored or because the situation improved.

It's supposed to become even funnier out there by tomorrow, unless the weather reports of earlier this week changed. They could start a kind of Australian "car surfing" entirely different of the U.S. version.

    Sandy Bridge

LGA1156 is not pin-compatible with LGA1155 and vice-versa. You cannot plug a Core i7 870 on a motherboard with the H67 chipset and the LGA1155 for instance. I'm not sure I'm following you. What motherboards are you refering to? AFAIK, the only thing you can plug into either a P67 or H67...

    Sandy Bridge

While I've been able to buy motherboards for it for at least three weeks, there's still no trace of Sandy Bridge CPU on my price lists. IMO, the 2500K seems to be the one to get. I'm eager to see how it fares at F@H. And it will come with the small heatsink. There's no way Intel will waste...

SSDs - State of the Product?

AFAIK, Kingston has nine series of SSDs. Only the SNE-125 and SNM225 are rebadged Intel drives. The others have Toshiba controllers and are slower. The SNM225 (Intel X-M drive) are listed has being discontinued.

Nope, I'm talking about 20" monitor, like the Dell 2001FP. 1600x1200 and 20". A quick search revealed that they still sell the 2007FP with the same definition.

Shouldn't that be 1600x1200? Back then, "square" 20" were 1600x1200. Now, they have dissapeared.

    question Upgrade HD Worthwhile

Or you can see it the other way. Any 2006 laptop is faster than any netbook sold in the past two years (a Pentium-M feels faster than any Atom - single or dual core). SSDdrueding, at least once, put a SSD in a netbook. To be honest, I would rather use a 2006 IBM Thinkpad with a new hard...

I forgot about those. In fact, now I remember that I ordered a few of the HP flavor some three years ago (they were used). They were mostly for the business market. They have been out of the market for several years. I doubt Buck has one of them. Money is on a 1080p model.

    question Upgrade HD Worthwhile

It would be a cheap upgrade and you should notice an improvement. Ddrueding will tell you to buy a SSD. If you answer that you need capacity and that you don't want to spend much, he'll still tell you to buy an SSD. In fact, I expect him to change his name to SSDdrueding some day. A SSD...

    Asus Sabertooth X58 : 3 or 5 years warranty?

In the few reviews I read about this motherboard, it is written that the warranty is 5 years. So when I saw 3 years on the website of an online seller, I thought it was a mistake. However, there are no mention of the five years warranty on Asus' product page. So what is it? I have one in...

Anyone else has at least one supplier with H67-based motherboards in stock, or is it just me? I can get at least four different GigaByte motherboards with the new LGA1155. The most interesting one is the GA-H67-UD2H. It's the cheapest one with at least four DIMM sockets. ~130$.

    400W 80Plus Bronze PSU : 35$

Far more efficient? According to both 80PLUS.org and the reviews I read, their efficiency is comparable. The Seasonic S12 has a better voltage regulation than the Xigmatek, but it isn't much more efficient (both vary between 82% and 85% efficiency). I agree that for the same amount of money...
