    Building a Storage Server Thread

From my experience, a single proc with gobs of memory and many spindles is the way to go. I'd take a single 2.8 Ghz Xeon (sweet price point), 3GB of RAM, and 4x73GB@15k RPM. There's a nice DB thread @ SR right now....called "sql". How much load are you expecing?

    Antec jumping onto SFF bandwagon

LOL, I'm having to revert my primary PC to a Dell Optiplex GX100 w/512MB of RAM and a 400BB. I've been playing too many games, this should fix it... All I have to do is hold out for this sucker :)

Why does Ghost have to hate?

Wow, I didn't know so many people were having issues with Ghost. I've been using it for about 3 years now without issue. Haven't even opened a manual. Yesterday I backed up a freshly built server. I booted directly to the CD, ran Ghost from the support directory (no installation or boot-disks...

I'm considering making a light bazooka over my workbench for this reason. I was looking at the other thread and it's discussion of over-driving bulbs and some of the larger 4-bulb fixtures. My workbench is 3 feet deep and about 8 feet long. It would be an interesting experiment to see how much...

    Building a dirt-cheap HTPC....

That is actually a pretty cool gizmo. I'm willing to bet my local fab shop could do something similar cheaper. The SCO Debacle

No kidding. The sad part is that this isn't the first time someone has been screwed by not masking their data correctly. IIRC, a while back on slashdot, they had an article about the govornment releasing a "censored" document where you could "un-censor" it by removing the overlay....stupid.

    New HD clips from MS
