How much faith do I have in computers?

I think this fits in with a discussion I had yesterday about hard vs. easy choices. An easy choice is one where the preferences aren't balanced, and you clearly prefer one over the other. A hard decision is one where you either prefer the options equally or aren't entirely sure which choice you...

Another note: I got a guy in a Prius to keep up with me on a nice stretch of 101. He couldn't manage the acceleration, but 110-ish wasn't a problem. Good to know.

The Spoiler is easy to get rid of, but IIRC, there actually is a reason for the hood scoop, so you can't just put an Impreza hood on without breaking stuff and reducing airflow to the engine :(

What do you think of this roof?

Were I to get a BMW or Merc (on any new car, really) I'd rather not have the markings all over. Were I to get a WRX STi, I would want it to look as much like a stock Impreza as I could. That way I could park it wherever, and the cops wouldn't be hunting me down.

What do you think of this roof?

Mercedes is more complex than BMW, but they have more variants to sell as well. Sedans: C < E < S Coupes: CLK < CLS < CL Convertibles: SLK < SL ....yeah, it is pretty complex. But I like their product lineup better than I like BMW's. (Click on "See all models")

    BMW 335i

Happens to me far more than my age can justify ;) I currently run Pirelli PZero Nero M+S and am very satisfied. I just wish I could find something a bit quieter. Tire noise is significantly more than engine and wind at these speeds.

What do you think of this roof?

Sounds good to me. I just wich they were more clear with their product placement (like Merc and BMW). Even if you've never seen the line before, you know about where you stand and what you are looking for.

Interesting. I don't think I ever disabled it before uninstalling, I guess it makes sense that this would be required to actually turn it off (if it really is hardware based).

e_dawg, That is another idea I have been playing with, but I think you have it slightly wrong. If I were to increase the size of my tires, that would increase it's circumference, making me cover more distance for each revolution. So what I really want to do is get larger tires. I currently have...

What do you think of this roof?

But the trick is, there are only so many form factors that need to be represented. A super-mini, compact, mid-size, full-size, 1/4-ton, 1/2-ton, and a full-ton. On top of that is drivetrain, body style and cosmetic differences. If each brand sells one of each form factor and body style, with...

    First experience with Vista

The one machine I have it running on outside of a VM is actually quite nice. Granted it is a Centrino Duo @ 1.6Ghz with a Gig of RAM and a 100GB 5400RPM hard drive, and it's a laptop so my expectations were low, but it scores a 3.1 on the "Windows Experience Index" (limited by the Intel...

What do you think of this roof?

It says in the picture that it is a 2007 Opel Astra. It doesn't look bad considering it is an entry-level hatchback. Rearward visibility doesn't look great, but "What is behind you is not important!". High side panels prevent you from looking down, but that isn't really an issue considering how...

I'd hardly consider the last page we visited private information. It's something that you can choose not to share, but that doesn't mean you should. I could go around in life not telling anyone my name, but it wouldn't be a good idea, and may prevent me from doing certain things.

I don't make any changes in the BIOS. When the OS first installs, and I install drivers for the first time, it asks me whether I would like to use their firewall. I answer with the obvious "hell no" and it never bothers me again. No corruption, no added latency.

None of them actually work, but the base product is fine. This is unlike VIA used to be and AOL still is. There is/was no way to get the functionality you actually wanted. There is/was no way to opt-out of bells and whistles that didn't work; or the basic functionality didn't work well/at all.

    XP Tablet Edition: Can't Login?
