I don't use footrests because my position is constantly changing, my desk it 8' long. The seat bottom would be slightly too high in front, if it weren't for the tilt forward feature, which (when combined with the lumbar support) puts the back nicely vertical and supported at the same time.

I suppose my views on the interface are biased. I know the menus, and I know the control wheel. I can operate any iPod while it is in my pocket or while drivng without thinking about it. Although you may not be able to do that now, it is inherent in the interface that you could at some point...

My recent lens spree wasn't an attempt to cover up my lack of experience, I just want to be sure I have the equipment capable of capturing the shots I want. Not that I have the skill to capture the shots I want, but it would be a shame to be further burdened by inappropriate gear.

One thing that I have started doing is looking at every picture I see in a different way. What did they capture? What are they saying? What tools/tricks did they use to illustrate their point? Of course, this doesn't spell out how they did it, so if it isn't obvious, I'm lost.
