No chance. They have shown that more energetic reactions happen in the atmosphere all the time. And Hawking Radiation has been shown to exist, so it wouldn't last long anyway.

Nope. The wood doesn't conduct, and as long as the screws had a bit of space, they didn't warp the board. Worked great through 3 motherboard changes, but I got sloppy this time.

Looks like I managed to screw my motherboard (literally). It is surface-mounted to plywood with wood screws, and I think I put one in crooked. Now the board will only get to POST code 25 and halts, no matter what other components are involved. Bah.

    Seagate Announcements

Well, the rig I have now is starting to fill up. Total drive count for the single machine is: 12x 750GB, 2x 74GB, 3x 16GB. My RAID controller is only a 16-port, but the motherboard has another 6 SATA and 1 PATA if I need it. I might need to upgrade from a 700W PS soon....we'll see.

I actually did consider the purchase for several weeks, and even discussed it with the SO 3 hours beforehand. But I fail to see what age has to do with it? Personality, yes. Age?

    photo Digital Pictureframe Reccomendations?

I'm planning on buying one for my grandmother. She doesn't have a computer, but I would like to mail her SD cards and have her put them in. The less features beyond that the better. I'm not sure what size to get, either. Somewhere between 8-15", ideally less than $500. Thoughts?

Medium format and only 2.5" drives? They'll fit. Besides, at 300MB per image, you ought to be able to store a few (like, 3000).

For some strange reason, going from 2x1GB of RAM to 2x2GB of RAM causes my Server 2003 install to BSOD. MemTest86+ from the (dual boot) Ubuntu 8.04 install comes up clean, as does Ubuntu itself. It was harder way back when, but it was also harder in W2K than XP. I haven't done a W2K hardware swap in at least 4 years. The most difficulty I envision is doing a sysprep before or a repair installation after. Neither is exceptionally difficult.

Well, my screen has a 0.5415mm Pixel Pitch, and I'm viewing in "actual pixels" for the resizing. And, for the record, my resizing technique for both was: 1. Open in Photoshop CS3 2. Image size... 3. Change size and resample with "Bicubic Sharper (best for reduction)" 4. Save Nothing else was done.
