    Pioneer Produces 500GB Blu-ray Disc

There will always be a market for shipping many copies of static data to lots of people cheaply. Granted, online delivery will replace many of the traditional uses, but there are many it won't. What will kill disposable media won't be hard drives, it will be 500GB USB thumbdrives for <$10. That...

Yup, I agree. And I also agree that if noise isn't an issue, your configuration makes the most sense. I'm still aiming for that "silent" thing.

OEM Vista Business Downgrade to XP What-tha?

I've put in three calls in the last week. The only questions asked were "Is this your first time activating this product" and "How many machines is this installed on?".

Thanks Mark. In my case...er...situation, the fans are farther away. There is plenty of air velocity, but it is more important for the fins to be farther apart so that the lower pressure air can still move through it.

    System Temperatures

It is cooler this morning, so all the temps are lower, but the discrepancy is significant. Speedfan 4.35b24 is reporting Core0 to be the hottest at 67C, while Real Temp 2.7 is reporting the same core to be 62C. The coolest (Core2) is at 57C and 52C respectively. Any ideas?

    nVidia may have "issues"

Considering the numbers I was hearing started with a "B", that will buy a lot of lawyers. I don't think a recall will happen.

P5-133XL, it shows my TJ-Max as 95C in Real Temp 2.70 (new version BTW). I'll keep an eye on it next time I load up the system and see what happens. Mercutio, When I'm gaming the system sends way more power to the 8800GTS, but fortunately, that has a separate air supply to the CPU (there are...

    nVidia may have "issues"

What I read said that the mobile parts were failing first because they thermally cycled more often and had less competent cooling solutions. That just means the desktop boards will take longer to fail. If it is long enough to exceed the average lifespan, than that is fine too.

Mercutio, which CPU temp sensor hits 62C? Because my "CPU" sensor gets about that hot; only the core sensors go over 70C.

Yeah, I'm not really happy about it. Right now the HSF is a Zalman 9700 with the fan removed, I think a Scythe Ninja would work better with the more general airflow I have in the case. Is there something better than the Scythe Ninja Plus for passive cooling?

I'm redoing the cooling for my system and am hoping for some feedback on my setup. OEM Vista Business Downgrade to XP What-tha?

Tannin reported the same result 8+ months ago on these forums. I wouldn't be surprised. Unless a key is used hundreds (thousands?) of times, I'm sure it won't go invalid on WGA. I have experienced a single key be used 110+ times without issue.

Loving the new 10-drive RAID-5 array. Only 100MB/sec writes, but 280MB/sec reads. I'll take it.

OK. Yes, this programs works with the settings named above. It does still show the error message when pressing either button, it isn't saving it's settings, and I'm still nervous about powering down a mounted drive, but the rest is working perfectly. Thank you so much!

After my Russia trip, I will never again be carrying only one body to something important. I will have two bodies, likely one with the 10-22 and the other with the 75-300 as the default configuration, swapping primes and a midrange zoom into the one least likely to be useful for a situation.

Unfortunatly, I can't have the API. But the rescan looks to do exactly what I want, and the commit and flush commands are darn useful as well. It will probably be broken down into a "start" and "stop" sequence with a prompt "Please turn on the array" before a rescan and an "it is now safe to...
