I just hate being caught out with too small a PSU. I don't think that will happen again with these rigs.

I'm surprised as well, but there you have it. Rock solid, even while folding, gaming, and streaming Pandora at the same time, so long as you don't go crazy with the OC. Of course, the 1200W Corsair 80 PLUS Gold PSUs I have coming will take care of that ;)

I think I've found the causes of some instability on the OC of my home computers. Both of them are still running on Antec EarthWatts 380W PSUs. I think this is a testament to what a high-quality sub-400W PSU can achieve; both are rock-solid until I start OCing.

Following up on the "made for RAID" subtopic above: Hitachi 3TB drive: $200 Hitachi 3TB "made for RAID" drive: $350 That is way more than a minor premium, that is a full blown screwing. Same performance, same cache, same warranty, just a different firmware. Screw that.

I oscillate between local and network storage. Before GBe I was local, then went network until drive capacities got large enough that I didn't need a massive array. Then I needed a massive array regardless. Now I'm back to local because the array is back to only 6 drives and will outrun GBe. It...

WHY would anyone pay 400-600 for a 3g phone?

Yup. The big controversy is whether the iPhone will suck as much on Verizon as it did on AT&T. That will decide whether it is AT&T's fault for having a crappy network, or whether it is the iPhone's fault for being so brutal with the network.

The 808 does support 3 zones, but I was going to use them as well. It also supports DNLA, but it is the only device I have that does. I suspect I'll be getting some kind of IR sending tool, tied in with my computer and the automated lighting system, that would be able to send commands to...

The only non-computer-attached BR player I have is a PS3. From what I've heard, it loads movies faster than most players and isn't even particularly expensive. That it can also stream from Netflix/Pandora/local media files is a bonus. Oh, and you can even play games on it.

Buck, I'm aware of this note by drive manufacturers wanting some more money, but in the past, any old SATA drive would work in RAID5 arrays of 10 disks or more without issue. I'm wondering if the manufacturers are now doing something to break this functionality?

How about from a hardware standpoint? HD isn't an issue at the moment, and a recording duration of even 6 hours would be plenty. Though if HD is available without much additional cost, it would be a no-brainer. Something with decent optics and a bit of a zoom would be fantastic.

I would have mentioned RAM voltage earlier, as I had a similar issue, but in your post above you mention 1.65v. In every machine I've tried, the RAM defaults to 1.5v which simply isn't stable at higher capacities.
