Not up to a certain size. I don't remember exactly, but it is pretty darn big. Which Gyro were you looking at for stills? I assume you mean handheld?

I did, but the Noise and Comfort ratings weren't high enough. As much as I like pushing the car, this is my daily driver, and I can't compromise the comfort too much.

We'll see how happy I am when they show up. When I was shopping around, I was doing so without price being a consideration. Only after I had the top three sorted did I look at price. The only one above the DWs was the Pirelli P-Zero for double the price, so I think I did OK ;)

    RAW support in Windows 7

Well, I was using Adobe Bridge, but it does not making copying/moving files very easy. And if all you are doing is glancing into a folder to see what is in there, having to launch any program is more work than it should be.

The ride and noise ratings were much worse for the Hankooks.

All the resellers are sourcing them from some warehouse somewhere, it's just that the money bought me someone to pick up the phone and get them coming.

    RAW support in Windows 7

Being able to view thumbnails in Explorer makes my life much easier. Having to open Adobe Bridge just to see what pictures I'm dealing with is a PITA. Something as simple as identifying an HDR set becomes much simpler.

Just ordered a set of Continental ExtremeContact DW tires for my car (225/40-18). While the Tire Rack and others advertise low prices, none of them can give me an ETA for availability. My local shop will have them for me by the middle of next week, but after shipping, install, alignment...

The size isn't particularly relevant; there is plenty of unused space in the world. The cost to build, the cost to maintain, and the amount of power it generates are the important figures, IMHO.

PC Gaming = World of Suck

Got back into basic 2D tower defense games after playing Sanctum for a while and realizing that the FPS part was my weakness. I had played on the Casual Collective before, and now had to create an account on Facebook to play their new version. If anyone is interested in some multiplayer Desktop...

My SanDisk Extreme Digital CF cards have "90MB/s" printed on them, but copies to the card are never faster than 15MB/s and from rarely exceed 30MB/s using a SanDisk Extreme USB2.0 reader. I'd love to know what it would take to get closer to 90MB/s. What are you guys using?

2 out of 3 disks in raid is considered spares?

Recent cheap 5400RPM SATA drives have been incredibly unreliable in RAID arrays. There is much speculation as to why.

Indeed, the cheapest I can get a U2411 for is $503.

    Clean power

Not saying that it isn't bullshit, but all the numbers are massively theoretical until one is built. My intuition is that power output will be massively nonlinear with regard to size, due to the many metrics that scale in a complimentary fashion.

They are arguing that this would continue to produce power through most of the night, considering the latent heat stored in the desert floor, and the considerably lower temperature at high altitude regardless of surface temperature.

For $400 the gamut is quite good. The best for the 24" sub-$500 monitors, I think.

I was just reading about that. I would want to hear why this company failed to build it in Australia (which was their first pick, for many years) from someone besides the company founder. I do like the concept, and would love to check out the view from the top.

Am I the only one that is annoyed at Dell for shipping their monitors with the VGA cable connected? On both the U2711 and these P2411s they've left the VGA cable connected, and threaded it through the Styrofoam packing in such a way that it comes out of the box at once and promptly comes apart...

Went and saw "Avenue Q" in San Jose today; it was awesome. The stage was the same height as the front row of seats, and we were front and center. Songs include "Sucks to be you", "Everyone's a little bit racist", and the famous "The Internet is for Porn". Highly recommended.

Does Norway have the Death Penalty?

I would agree, but I certainly don't want to pay for his room and board until he dies of old age. That is why I support the death penalty, much cheaper than "life without parole".

Dead AMD 3200+, Dead ram, and possibly Power supply

You're joking, right? Memory compatibility lists on non-server hardware have been spotty for years. RAM is RAM (or should be). If the speed/voltage/type of RAM is supported by the motherboard, it should work.

It is awesome. The best color and uniform brightness I've ever seen. It is darn heavy, and not exactly cheap, but it is great. My only complaint (and not about the monitor) is that I can't get my HDMI matrix switch to support any resolution beyond 1920x1080.
