    Early models used LinkAMedia Controllers with Toshiba NAND, current PCIe/NVMe models use Sandforce controllers with Toshiba NAND. Very few detailed reviews of their current consumer based SATA SSDs so can't tell you. Typically firmware was customised by Seagate.

    Either it's using multiple SAS connections, or it's not really SAS, but some sort of U.2 interface, OR Samsung are using the data rate off the NAND ignoring the SAS interface limitations. (I'm going the last one). Very little is currently known about it. FYI Seagate 60TB SSD in 3.5" form...
