    Hardocp shutting down?

You shouldn't, but some of the replies do give additional info on the move... Like, H, I would give a quick glance at the headlines 2-3x a week... Pity all the good review sites are slowly disappearing... I remember the days of ArsTechnica giving in depth reviews of the Netburst based P4's or...

Can I Circumvent Lenovo and MS Licensing

The only issue I see, IIRC, hasn't MS been removing hardware support during Windows 10 development? (eg what was fully supported on the initial release/update, may not be supported with the latest 1809 release)? IIRC some Intel/AMD CPUs are no longer supported, along with some older chipsets...

I guess the only advantage of having the ISO directly, is that you can use the Window USB/DVD download tool or another 3rd party tool like Rufus to convert the ISO to a bootable USB.

+1 to what sechs mentions. Download the latest Win10 ISO, use the Windows Media Creation Tool to create a installation USB, and install. Barring any hardware incompatibilities it should be fine. As for activation see: https://www.storageforum.net/forum/threads/windows-10.10394/post-206565

SSDs - State of the Product?

IIRC, you need at least a Z97, X99 or Z170/270 Intel based chipset (and BIOS/UEFI) to support booting from NVMe. (Unless the add in card has the appropriate firmware to allow it to boot on legacy systems, ala SAS cards). This seems to confirm: https://forums.evga.com/NVMe-M2-on-X58-m2609961.aspx

Seems we all had a plumbing story this week... I had to replace the tap valves in the ensuite shower last week, due the shower having a slight leak with the taps turned off. (The nylon/rubber ends on the valves had deteriorated due to over tightening).

4k video playback: What do you really need?

I've read quite a few complaints about how finicky some UHD BR players are with even with a tiny bit of dirt/grease/oil/fingerprint on the disc, and that while 4K contents looks gorgeous, having to polish discs before playing was getting old, very fast. The days of playing super-scratched discs...

    Windows 10

Did you install W10 onto it any time? If so, just grab the latest ISO from MS and install. It should activate, as the prior installation/activation would have been recorded by MS... Otherwise, keep 8.1 or fork over some cash for W10 upgrade. (IIRC you can purchase direct from MS online store)...

Mirroring what H mentioned, it's best to use the same vendor SFP+ transceivers as the card being used. However we've had some good experiences with 3rd-party transcievers from FibreStore (https://www.fs.com/), as they make transceivers to suite vendor specific cards.
