Learning Storage Performance
Well, it is time for yet anothe one of my rants about how much I hate a certain small percentile of the customers I have to be nice to at work. This one takes the biscuit, although I expect several of you have had similar experiences.
Guy brings in 22" CRT display. He is a photographer and wants it repairing. Is prepared to buy a replacement if necessary. Sure enough, the CRT is dog-meat.
Phone customer with a price for a replacement 21" TFT from Samsung. The customer wants a special Mac type 23" display. I get a price. Customer now ignores my calls.
His wife eventually tells me the truth. It turns out that they bought it online saving about £25. OK, never mind I say, please pick up your old display. You can guess the rest I am sure.
Now, I am very good. We don't charge for diagnosis, only repair. Not only did I not charge this guy, but he now expects me by default to dispose of his rubbish for free as well. Well, I am going to persanally throw it in his garden if he does not come and get it. I am damned if I am going to pay to dispose of his crap.
Some people really are right little scumbags, they really are.
